The Japanese automaker is ready to bring a lot of "action and adventure" to the 2024 edition of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada - and it is sparing no expense, including in terms of custom builds.
It seems the 2024 SEMA Show is going to be a veritable automotive event, not just the annual gathering dedicated to the aftermarket realm. That's because OEMs have raced since last week to catch the red carpet's spotlight and started announcing their custom goodies for the event as fast as they could.

The good folks over at Toyota Motor North America were also among them with two new and cool prototypes. One is the Toyota 4Runner TRD Surf concept, which is the holy grail for enthusiasts who lamented that the Japanese SUV doesn't offer a two-door removable top version just like the rivals at Ford and Jeep (Bronco and Wrangler). Unfortunately, this is just a prototype, and Toyota hasn't said anything about putting it into series production.

Immediately after that, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser slid its roof to become the stunning ROX concept – a mid-size body-on-frame SUV that enjoys the great outdoors unlike any other TMNA vehicle. But, as it turns out, those two were just the appetizer. Now that the 2024 SEMA Show is just around the corner (November 5-8), they're revealing the full roster composed of seven main custom builds - the aforementioned 4Runner TRD Surf and CALTY Land Cruiser ROX, as well as the GR86 Rally Legacy, #84 Tacoma TRD ProRunner Race, Ultimate Tailgate Tundra, and Toyota RAV-X  concepts, as well as the Suprabird Tribute.

Several additional Toyota vehicles come from AAP and include the Tundra SR5 CrewMax, Tundra Hybrid Platinum, RAV4 Woodland Edition, 4Runner, TRD Off-Road Premium, Sequoia SR5, Tacoma SR5, and RAV4. There is also a Baja Cruiser Race Edition, a Classic Adventure Cruiser, a 1994 Toyota Drift Truck, as well as a Modellista Overland Vision concept on display along with accessories and parts. Additionally, the Japanese company will host a walkaround with TV personality Rutledge Wood on November 5 starting from 10:00 AM MT at the 2024 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

By the way, Toyota is being mysterious about some of its main builds – at the time of writing, we only have information regarding the GR86 Rally Legacy Concept and the #84 Tacoma TRD ProRunner Race concepts aside from the 4Runner TRD Surf and CALTY Land Cruiser ROX. The GR86 prototype is set to lean into the brand's rich motorsport heritage by paying tribute to the iconic Celica GT-Four rally car of the 1990s with help from a bonkers turbocharged and AWD 300-hp GR86 transformation. Meanwhile, the #84 Tacoma TRD ProRunner Race prototype highlights N400 Tacoma's performance as a Baja-inspired high-speed desert racer.
