UPDATE: We now have official pics and tech specs of the Aston Martin Vanquish, their fastest series-production car to date. Original story follows...
There was a time when Aston Martin's flagship grand tourer made 460 horsepower from a naturally aspirated V12 with a displacement of 5.9 liters rather than the advertised 6.0 liters. That was more than two decades ago, though. For model year 2025, the British marque's flagship grand tourer will take the form of the all-new Vanquish, which builds on the DBS Superleggera with more power and torque.
Leaked by Instagram user Kero Wolf, then shared on multiple forums, the Vanquish Mk3 stands out from its predecessor by means of a larger front grille, far more obvious heat extractors in the hood, new side vents, pronounced rear haunches, and completely different rear lights. The LED taillights are closer in design to the Valour and the Victor that served as inspiration for the automaker's most powerful manual-equipped GT so far.
In stark contrast to the DB11-replacing DB12 and the revised Vantage, the 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish ships with Pirelli P Zero performance tires modified specifically for this model. The DB12 and Vantage feature AML-branded Pilot Sport 5 rubber, which measures 315/30 or 325/30 by 21 inches out back.
Unfortunately, the low resolution makes it impossible to determine the rear tire dimensions the newcomer. Gifted with a quad-pipe exhaust system à la Vantage rather than the two-pipe exhaust setup of the DB12, the Vanquish also sports carbon-ceramic brakes framed by bronze-finish wheels. The DBS Superleggera-replacing model obviously gets touchscreen infotainment to the detriment of the Mercedes-Benz COMAND system, but alas, interior pics have yet to be leaked.
Competing against the likes of the Bentley Continental GT Speed and Ferrari 12Cilindri, the Vanquish flaunts a revised twin-turbo V12 with 835 metric ponies and 1,000 newton meters of torque on tap. Otherwise put, 824 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of twist, with most of those resources going to the rear wheels via the ZF 8HP automatic tranny.
Hardware changes include new injectors, turbochargers, intake and exhaust ports for the redesigned cylinder heads, reprofiled cams, a strengthened block, and stronger connecting rods for additional peace of mind. Aston Martin has yet to confirm whether the improved twin-turbo V12 displaces the very same 5.2 liters as all other AE31 variants.
The third Vanquish after the original from 2001 through 2007 and the second generation from 2012 through 2018, this fellow is also related by name to a concept revealed at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Said concept was intended to rival the McLaren 720S and Ferrari F8 Tributo with a 3.0-liter V6 engine, although both the mid-engined Vanquish and in-house developed V6 have sadly been scrapped.
To debut later today, the 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish packs a bigger punch than both of its main competitors. Now a plug-in hybrid V8, the Conti GT belts out a combined 771 horsepower and the very same peak torque as the BMW XM Label and Vanquish Mk3. Over at the Prancing Horse of Maranello, the 12Cilindri is a different breed from the Continental GT Speed and the Vanquish, for it boasts a naturally aspirated V12 lump.
Without any kind of electric assistance or forced induction, the 6.5-liter mill is much obliged to deliver 830 cavalli vapore (819 hp) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) at full chatter. The big question is, do you prefer the 9,500-rpm engine in the Fezza over the low-down torque monster of the 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish?
