2026 Bentley Luxury Urban SUV Gets Rendered Fast, Would You Like It as a Hybrid or an EV?

The British ultra-luxury automaker has entered a completely new era this year – it has a new CEO, fresh generations for some of its most popular models, as well as a different powertrain philosophy. Is this for the better or not?
Back in March, Adrian Hallmark was poked by headhunters and suddenly stepped down from Bentley to take the reins at Aston Martin. The company wasn't exactly shaken by the sudden departure and continued to do what it does best with limited edition models like the Bentley Batur Convertible, a gorgeous 740-hp W12-powered 'hairdryer' capped at just 16 examples.

It was also a swan song for the W12 engine because the company was happily teasing the arrival of a new V8 hybrid assembly with more power. As such, they quickly retired the regular V8 from the Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur – leaving it only on the Bentayga ultra-luxury SUV. Then, the new age began during the summer.

As such, the new performance hybrid assembly was announced with 771 horsepower under the hood of the all-new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed, a 208-mph grand tourer capable of going fully electric when needed, thanks to the PHEV setup. Naturally, the next-gen 2025 Flying Spur also became Bentley's most powerful four-door ever when it was officially announced in September.

With all these novelties, you would think that the second facelift or an all-new Bentley Bentayga featuring the hybrid assembly would come next. Well, as it turns out, according to a recent teaser, the luxury CUV will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year without 771 horsepower (or they're waiting until then to give it the hybrid V8). Instead, their next order of business is to reveal the first production EV.

The first-ever Bentley all-electric model tucked for series production will obviously be a crossover SUV. The British automaker recently confirmed it will launch in 2026, so the teaser campaign is already on, and we suspect the gala introduction will take place sometime next year – at least in the real world. Over across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI, meanwhile, it's already here.

That's all thanks to a member of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators, of course – and this virtual artist, better known as Theottle on social media, has resorted to CGI slicing and dicing the Audi Q6 e-tron to create a Bentley EV in his latest behind-the-scenes making-of video feature which we have embedded below. Most likely, Bentley will do that, too – they will use the PPE architecture that underpins both the second-gen Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron for the 'luxury urban SUV' from Bentley.

So, would you like something like this in your garage? Or would you prefer a smaller Bentley SUV than the Bentayga but featuring the same hybrid V8 as the Continental GT Speed and Flying Spur, even if it's toned down from 771 horsepower?
