Early in October, we found out that Stellantis is not doing well at all in the crucial US automotive market – it fell like a rock by 17% during the first nine months of the year to less than one million deliveries, and every American brand was down in the third quarter. Yep, even the usual megastars like Ram Trucks and Jeep hit rock bottom – the sales were slower by 6% during Q3 and by 8% overall to 449 during the January through September period.
Of course, (cost) cutting measures have been taken, and while the V8-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee L was sent to the retirement asylum, the Grand Cherokee series overall got huge price cuts across various trims for the 2025 model year. Additionally, the Jeep Wagoneer is now also way cheaper for 2025MY, and Stellantis even paused production of the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee for a few days to make sure inventories don't swell again.
As for the global efforts, Jeep is diligently preparing to introduce the third generation of the Compass compact crossover SUV, as revealed in a fresh teaser at the start of October. Back then, the US company revealed a potentially larger third iteration via a CGI ideation sketch that shows a much more rugged take on the little SUV than ever before. According to the rumor mill, the new generation will be produced at the Melfi plant in Italy starting next year before manufacturing expands to North America a few months later.
A truly global product, the all-new Compass will be produced on the "highly flexible" STLA Medium platform, so it will have "a variety of propulsion options from fully electric to hybrid to internal combustion, bringing customers affordable Jeep capability, best-in-class performance, and state-of-the-art technology no matter which powertrain they choose," according to Jeep. By the way, its underpinnings will be shared with the European Peugeot 3008 (III), Peugeot 5008 (III), and the second-generation Opel Grandland.
Now, as the OEM was quite generous with the technical details, so are the parallel universes of vehicular CGI thanks to a member of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators. More precisely, Julien Jodry, the illustrator for the French automotive news magazine 'auto moto,' revealed on X (formerly Twitter), the CGI looks of the 2026 Jeep Compass – and it's exactly as we expected if we compare it with the official teaser sketch.
Naturally, we still need to take all this with a healthy dose of salt - we all know how greatly exaggerated these teasers really are when they include exotic CGI design sketches into the mix. Nevertheless, if this is the real design, nobody will need to fear that less savvy fans might mistake it for a Peugeot 3008, 5008, or Opel Grandland, right? So, what do you think?

Futur #Jeep Compass (2025) : pourra-t-il se satisfaire de la base technique du Peugeot 3008 ?
