39-FT Vibe Travel Trailer Boasts 3 Slide-Outs and a Layout That's Never Been Done Before

The Vibe series from Forest River has been around for long enough to make an impression with passionate travelers. It's not just size that did it, but also the series' highlights: panoramic windows, residential appliances, plenty of room for sleeping and lounging, and all of it in a relatively lightweight fiberglass trailer. Any item in the Vibe series has "the most standard features of any fiberglass ultralight on the market," according to Forest River themselves.

The 2025 Vibe 3400SB also brings a layout that has never been done before, which arguably makes all the highlights above even more appealing. A completed unit was on display at the recent 2024 edition of the Elkhart Dealer Open House in Indiana, and is toured in the video available at the bottom of the page.

The Vibe 3400SB is a travel trailer built on top of a double-axle chassis with a gross weight of 11,475 lbs (5,205 kg) and a cargo capacity of 2,767 lbs (1,255 kg). It's not as light as you probably expected, given the description above, but Forest River says it's the lightest in its class. To boot, it offers the most features, which would make it twice the bang for the same buck.

The never-before-done layout is a surprising one, to be sure. It offers residential-type rooms with locking doors, a more intimate lounge and dining area, a full kitchen that would do any aspiring chef proud, and a full bathroom. This is achieved by means of three slide-outs and a lot of outside of the box thinking on the part of the designers at Forest River.

Measuring a hair over 39 feet (11.8 meters) in total length, this brand-new Vibe is 11.4 feet (3.5 meters) high and 96 inches (243 cm) wide. It retains the panoramic glazing of its other Vibe siblings but adds a bit more European-like styling in the exterior design.

The interior is very much like a home on wheels, perfect for family outings or even suitable for a family living in it full time. You walk directly into the lounge slash entertaining area, comprised of a pair of theater armchairs facing a wall-mounted electric fireplace and a large-screen TV right above it.

The dining area comes up next, without any perceived division between the two spaces. It's made up of an L-shaped booth-style dining bench with a table and a pair of foldable chairs, and it's welcoming albeit compact.

The fact that the lounge and dining areas are positioned so close one to another is not common in travel trailers of this size. It might even seem somewhat uncomfortable were it not for the large windows tricking the eye into seeing more space than there is.

The kitchen is at the end of the trailer, U-shaped, and effectively wrapped in glass on all three sides. As promised by Forest River, it's packed with residential appliances, from a full range with an induction oven and microwave to a deep farm sink and an extra-large fridge with freezer. You also get solid-surface countertops, a full pantry, and plenty of storage options in cubbies and drawers.

The number one surprise with the layout comes with the bedroom tucked away behind the wall that holds the TV and the fireplace. This is also where you'll find one of the two smaller slide-outs on the other side of the trailer, which allows the builder to put a fold-out futon in there with a bunk on top, while still having enough place for storage-integrating furniture.

Whether used as an occasional guestroom or a permanent bedroom for the kids, it's a new take on the mid-bunk situation you get in other trailers. It has the benefits of extra space thanks to the slide-out and extra privacy thanks to the closing door.

The bathroom is down the hall as you move to the other end of the trailer. It's big enough to "do" for the whole family, with a porcelain flushing toilet, a walk-in shower, and a sink with vanity and storage in overhead cubbies.

But the main bedroom is yet another surprise with this new layout. It sits on the second smaller slide-out, so it's capable of fitting in a queen-size bed with underneath storage, a full wardrobe with sliding mirrored doors, a pocket for a washer/dryer unit and overhead storage, and another piece of furniture by the oversize picture windows at the foot of the bed. It's not just appliances in this travel trailer that are residential: the rooms are, too!

The Forest River Vibe 3400SB comes with a 15,000 BTU AC, vacuum-bonded walls, aluminum framed laminated floors, a 38-gallon (144-liter) tank for freshwater, a 96-gallon (363.4-liter) one for gray, and a 30-gallon (113.5-liter) one for black water. It also features two automatic awnings with LED lighting strips, dual 20-lb (9-kg) propane gas tanks, electric stabilizing jacks on all corners, pass-through storage on the outside, and more storage holds.

Pricing is expected to start at over $60,000 for the 2025 Vibe 3400SB, but dealers are already offering it on pre-order for as little as $50,000.
