Android Auto wireless adapters have made the switch from cables to a no-cord experience extremely straightforward and convenient. Before AAWireless invented this product category, the only way to give up on cables in the car was with an aftermarket head unit upgrade.
This wasn't the most affordable method and involved professional installation that typically came with an extra price.
That's why Android Auto wireless adapters have become so incredibly popular. AAWireless started a revolution that was then expanded by Motorola's MA1, and both devices continue to spearhead this space.
Motorola has just reduced the price of its Android Auto wireless adapter, bringing it to almost its lowest-ever price.
The MA1 is now available from Amazon with a massive 50% discount, meaning that instead of $89.99, you can get it for just $44.99. Truth be told, the MA1 has rarely been offered at its full price, and it could typically be had for $59.99. However, the new price available today is one of the lowest since launch – I think the only lower price was at Target when it could be had for about $36.
The MA1 has an interesting history. It was launched with Google's support, and it rapidly became one of customers' favorite Android Auto wireless adapters. Getting your hands on this product after the launch was nearly impossible, as all stocks ran out almost in seconds. Every time Motorola brought more units on Amazon, the demand was so high that the MA1 was mostly unavailable in the first months.
The parent company eventually resolved these inventory challenges, and the MA1 became available for everybody with next-day delivery. However, the device mysteriously disappeared this summer, when most customers believed the company wanted to wave goodbye to this market and focus on other devices.
Motorola has never commented on this speculation, but the MA1 remained available for approximately one month at a time when its biggest rival – AAWireless – was getting ready for the second generation. The MA1 eventually returned after this mysterious tenure offline, and it's now back in stock.
AAWireless TWO is also here, but Motorola's long-term plans for this market are still unclear. The company seems to stick with the original model, and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. The device still works like a charm – I know some people have encountered reliability issues with this adapter, and I invite you all to share your experience in the comment box below – and launching a new-generation model wouldn't make sense without a significantly upgraded experience.
It's unclear how long the new price will last, so if you want the MA1 at one of the lowest prices since launch, this is the right time to order it.
