APRILIA ETV 1000 Caponord (2002-2003) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2002, the Italian motorcycle maker launched the Aprilia ETV 1000 Caponord, an enduro motorcycle suitable for paved and unpaved roads. The bike was in its second year of production and was part of the same family as the Aprilia RST 1000 Futura and RSV Mille.

The 2002 motorcycle came with the same package as the previous model, featuring the same technical, visual, and performance specifications without any significant modifications whatsoever.

In the visual department, the motorcycle was characterized by standard fittings such as a half fairing with a large headlight unit, a medium-sized windscreen, a two-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, an under-seat-mounted exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels.

The bike's frame was fitted with a 50 mm Marzocchi fork with 175 mm of travel on the front and an adjustable Sachs shock absorber with 185 mm travel on the rear, providing optimum suspension performance and handling capabilities.

In the performance department, the 2002 Aprilia ETV 1000 Caponord had its soul brought to life by a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine at its core, boasting 98 hp at 8,250 rpm and 97 Nm (72 lb-ft) torque at 6,250 rpm.

The bike was kept on the safe side by two 300 mm brake discs with dual-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 270 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper mounted on the rear wheel.
