Audi unveiled the 2025 Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron at the Paris Motor Show in late 2024, continuing its electrification effort despite slow sales of battery-powered vehicles on the European market.

BMW started the SUV-coupe trend in 2007 with the X6, and by 2024, it was not over yet. As a result, Audi pushed harder in this segment and introduced sportier versions of its all-electric Q6 lineup at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. Besides the regular Q6 Sportback e-tron, the four-ring brand also made a high-performance version of it, the 2025 Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron. The SUV coupe shared its PPE (Premium Platform Electric) with the regular Q6 e-tron and the Porsche Macan, which was available exclusively as an electric vehicle.

Besides the underpinnings, the 2025 Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron also shared some bodywork parts with its SQ6 e-tron stablemate. For instance, at the front, both vehicles had slim, organic-shaped headlights featuring Matrix LEDs, allowing customers to personalize the daytime running lights pattern. Furthermore, the massive singleframe grille was completely blocked since EVs didn’t require the same cooling area. However, the side vents that flanked it were real, and the vehicle used them to decrease the drag resistance with the help of the air curtains. The air intake in the apron also contributed to lowering the ground effect.

From its profile, the nose of the 2025 Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron was identical to the one offered on the regular SUV-shaped sibling of the crossover. However, the greenhouse was completely new. It had the A-pillars tilted even more, and the arched roofline was lowered by 1.4-in (37 mm). At the back, the design team took inspiration from the Audi TT when it shaped the tailgate. However, the tiny glass area placed between the rear doors and the D-posts looked like it was carried over from the Audi A7. From behind, the coupe-looking crossover had broad taillights stretched from end to end, crossing the tailgate. They featured OLED technology and could also lit differently depending on the situation. On the lower side, the wrapped-around plastic bumper featured a diffuser underneath its central section that also contributed to lowering the car’s drag coefficient. Compared with its SUV-shaped sibling that had a Cd of 0.28, the SQ6 Sportback e-tron boasted a 0.26 drag resistance.

Inside, the automaker tried to create a sporty ambiance. It installed bolstered bucket seats at the front, keeping their occupants in place during high-speed cornering. The 2025 Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron shared its dashboard with its non-S sibling, featuring a large curved display fronting the driver. Atop the center stack, the car had the infotainment system’s touchscreen. In addition, the automaker included a third screen placed in front of the side passenger. They could use it to see navigation maps, explore the Internet, or watch movies without disturbing the one behind the wheel. In the back, the split-folding (40/20/40) bench seat was wide enough to accommodate three passengers. Despite the sloped roofline, there was enough headroom for them, although not as much as in the SQ6 e-tron SUV.

Under its skin, the 2025 Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron came with a dual-motor setup, one for each axle. The system provided a total of 489 PS (482 hp), fed by a 100 kWh battery. Thanks to the 800-volt platform, the ell-electric crossover coupe could be recharged at DC stations with up to 270 kW speeds. In ideal conditions, it could jump from 10 to 80 percent charging status in around 21 minutes.
