Bentley spent five years developing an entirely new drivetrain for the Continental lineup, and the result was meant to blow customers’ minds away in every aspect, and that included fuel consumption.

The British brand never made or intended to create an economical vehicle. But let’s not forget that times have changed, and concerns about ecological aspects have started to become increasingly serious. As a result, Bentley joined the plug-in hybrid bandwagon and made the GT Continental its first product that could be fueled at a gas station and at a power outlet. Furthermore, it could even drive silently, relying on batteries alone. However, the brand’s customers were more concerned about performance and luxury than fuel efficiency. As a result, the car manufacturer had to combine things that in the past were in total opposition. And yet, it managed to do the impossible and created the most potent Bentley in history, including supercars, the most fuel-efficient and one of the most luxurious vehicles on the planet.

At first sight, the 2025 Bentley Continental GT looked more like a facelifted version of the previous generation of this nameplate, but it was entirely new from the ground up. At the front, the automaker installed two round headlights, like in the 1959 Bentley S2, which was the last to feature that design. However, the automaker created new units with matrix LED lamps that contained 120 light-emitting diodes. In addition, the automaker installed swept-back DRLs that doubled as turn signals. The main grille was typical for a Bentley, sporting a diamond-style mesh pattern. Lower on the bumper, the 2025 Continental GT Coupe featured an A-shaped lower air intake flanked by triangular scoops for the air curtain.

From its profile, the muscular lines of the vehicle echoed the previous generation of the Continental GT. It featured enlarged rear fenders with muscular shoulders over the wheels. The greenhouse started with a raked panoramic windshield and continued with a sloped-down roofline and rear window. Despite the hatchback look, the 2025 Bentley Continental GT had an independent opening for the trunk; it was a proper Grand Tourer. Lower, under the rear bumper, the automaker installed a set of triangular exhausts with rounded corners that flanked a broad diffuser. Bentley also created new, oval-shaped taillights that looked filled with diamonds when lit, and their horizontal light bars doubled as turn signals.

Inside, the high level of craftsmanship and luxury ambiance was second to none. Depending on the options, customers could get a satin chrome trim on the dashboard or a black piano one. Fronting the driver was a digital instrument panel with a configurable display. Above the center stack, the 2025 Bentley Continental GT had the already famous rotating element that could show three analog dials, the navigation display, or the same trim as the rest of the dashboard. Between the luxurious, wide, and comfortable leather-wrapped seats, the automaker installed the center console that housed the gear selector and the buttons for the infotainment system. In the back, the bench seat was designed for two, albeit the low roofline limited headroom for those seated there.

But the most attractive part of the car was under its skin. The 2025 Bentley Continental GT was powered by a four-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. Both sent their oomph in all corners via an eight-speed automatic (dual-clutch) gearbox. The total output of this setup resulted in 778 PS (771 hp) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque.
