GM refreshed the fifth generation of the full-size luxury SUV Cadillac Escalade in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, bringing more onboard technology and ditching one of the previously used engines.
The fifth generation of the Escalade appeared on the market in February 2020 for the 2021 model year. However, the world pandemic crisis affected the production and sales of the full-size luxury American SUV. Eventually, when customers could return to showrooms and spec their own Caddies, they were pleased with what they got. However, that didn’t change the automaker’s mind to refresh the vehicle four years after the model’s introduction. As a result, in the fall of 2024, the fifth generation of the Escalade was updated in most areas.
There was a new front fascia for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade. It boasted new LED headlights with vertical daytime running lights resembling those installed on the Escalade IQ. Between them, the broad grille was adorned on its sides and on the bottom by an additional light stripe that created an animated effect when the car was locked or unlocked. On the lower side, the automaker placed a bumper with an additional air intake that also housed the radar for the advanced safety systems.
From its profile, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade kept its majestic appearance as a full-size luxury SUV. Its tall front was followed by a steep windshield and a slightly sloped down roofline. The waistline had a tiny step towards the back of the vehicle, above the rear quarter panels. Surprisingly, though, the automaker didn’t replace the door handles, which remained exposed and not flush to the bodywork with retractable pull handles. Another upgrade for the car’s look was that Cadillac fitted the refreshed Escalade with a 20-inch set as standard with an option for a 24-inch set. At the back, the massive SUV featured vertical LED taillights that flanked the broad tailgate. At the same time, the bumper was redesigned and integrated rectangular exhausts. Last but not least, the Cadillac crest placed above the license plate was illuminated.
Inside, the automaker completely redesigned the car’s luxurious interior. Atop the flat dashboard, the automaker placed a pillar-to-pillar broad 55-inch display split into three areas. The one fronting the driver was for the instrument panel, while the one that sat atop the center stack was for the infotainment unit. In addition, a 20-inch touchscreen fronted the side passenger. Between the front seats, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade featured a wide center console that housed a couple of cup holders, the rotary dial for the infotainment system, and the volume knob. In addition, the automaker installed an additional touchscreen for the HVAC unit. For those looking for an impressive acoustic experience, Cadillac offered a standard 19-speaker sound system, with an option for a 40-speaker one.
Under the hood, GM installed the already known 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that pushed out 420 hp (426 PS) to the rear wheels or in all corners via a 10-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately for fleet owners, and not only, the 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel powerhouse was no longer available. However, the 682 hp (691 PS) supercharged V8 for the Escalade-V was still on the offer.
Information about this model's engines has not been yet made public, but we will add it as soon as the car is launched or more data becomes available
