The second generation of the Citroen C3 Aircross was previewed in 2023 at the Gaikindo Indonesia Auto Show in the summer of 2023, while the European version was unveiled almost a year later, in the spring of 2024.
As part of the Stellantis Group, Citroen was a well-known European automaker. Its long history, together with significant achievements in the automotive sector, transformed it into a worthy competitor in the market. Furthermore, it always had a different approach in terms of design, which sometimes helped it achieve great success. Sometimes, on the other hand, its styling team ideas were so different than what customers wanted that it almost ruined the company. For the 2024 C3 Aircross, the automaker took a safe approach not just from the aesthetic point of view but also from the engineering one. The small-sized crossover shared its Smart Car platform with the Opel Frontera and the Fiat Grande Panda. This allowed the automaker to build the vehicle with either an internal combustion engine or a hybrid drivetrain.
With its almost flat vertical front fascia, the 2024 Citroen C3 Aircross tried to impress its customers with a rugged-like appearance. A narrow upper grille adorned by the large double-chevron badge created the impression of a serious off-road vehicle, while the C-shaped narrow LED headlights made the vehicle look more aggressive. The bumper was pushed forward and sported angular shapes, while on the apron, Citroen added a second broad air intake flanked by vertical side vents for the air curtain.
From its profile, the 2024 Citroen C3 Aircross revealed a muscular stance with flared wheel arches adorned by black trims. In addition, the dark side sills created the image of a vehicle with higher ground clearance. To complete the SUV stance look, the automaker made tall door panels compared to the size of the windows. Furthermore, the vertical C-post placed above the rear axle and the C-shaped window line created a floating roof design for the vehicle. Out back, Citroen installed a vertical tailgate adorned on its upper side by a spoiler. It flanked it with a set of narrow LED taillights visually connected via a black horizontal stripe across the tailgate. On the lower side, the tall bumper sported a black lower area adorned by a silver trim that mimicked a rock slider.
But the real surprise was found inside the vehicle. Despite its rather small exterior size, the C3 Aircross was available with up to seven seats, even though base versions were offered with only two-row seating. At the front, the automaker installed a multi-layered dashboard. On the lowest panel, it had the center vents and the steering column. Above it, on a separate panel, was attached a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system flanked by slim vertical vents, while on the top shelf was the instrument panel fronting the driver. The automaker installed two seats in the front row, separated by a narrow console that housed the gear selector and a storage compartment. In addition, Citroen placed the HVAC controls on the center stack. The second row of seats had a 40/60 split-folding system and could accommodate up to three passengers, while the rearmost row had a 50/50 split system for two more occupants.
Under its skin, the 2024 Citroen C3 Aircross started its journey with two electrified versions: a 138 PS (136 hp) 48V hybrid and a full-electric model. Later on, gasoline-powered only became available, depending on the market.
Information about this model's engines has not been yet made public, but we will add it as soon as the car is launched or more data becomes available
