Tesla Cybertrucks are taking over the 2024 SEMA Show. Unplugged Performance is bringing in not one, not two, but 12 electric pickup trucks, all customized and each with its own personality. Heavy-duty steel bumpers, 24-inch wheels, and multiple light bar options are on the menu at the model's first appearance at SEMA.
The design of the Tesla Cybertruck has been labeled as “polarizing” since day one, when the automaker unveiled it on the stage in November 2019 and had the design chief Franz von Holzhausen smash its windows with a steel ball and a sledgehammer.
The moment got everyone talking about the Cybertruck and got reservations pouring in. After all, it was an electric pickup truck that started at only $39,900 and all potential customers had to do to reserve one was to place a $100 deposit, which was refundable at any moment.
However, four years later, the model started at $69,990 and the figures promised in terms of range back in November 2019 were nowhere in sight. The Cybertruck went into production at the Giga Texas in July 2023 and Tesla handed over the first ten vehicles on November 30, which was four years after the official unveiling.
However, the stainless steel body allowed little customization. First of all, it was impossible to paint. So, many owners took their vehicles to customization shops that wrapped them in the most insanely colored films. That is how we got to see the Cybertrucks in matte black, bright white, red, and Tiffany Blue.
But the one that got the most attention was the one that sported the head-turning, color-shifting wrap. The T-Sportline team who had created it had to change the filming location to get rid of the crowd it attracted.
Later on, Tesla started offering its own wrap service for the Cybertrucks, but it was double as expensive as other specialized shops would do it, while aftermarket specialists were already offering interior makeovers, which turned the white, gray and black cabin of the Cybertruck Foundation Series into lounges in either dark red or aqua blue.
We got to see it riding on aftermarket wheels that matched the size of the factory units, but also on massive 30 inchers. Everything worked on the already controversial model.
However, Unplugged Performance took things to a whole new level. Now, the time has come for the tuning house to take not one, not two, but a whole fleet of ten Cybertrucks to this year's SEMA Show.
The first time the electric pickup goes to the show. The models will be wearing premium PPF wrap and forged wheels, including UP-03 Forged Beadlock units with sizes between 18 and 20 inches. Larger wheels are also in store: the CYBRHEX units come in sizes from 20 to 24 inches.
Unplugged Performance has more on the menu. They will also showcase upgrades included in their INVINCIBLE off-road-focused product line. Heavy-duty steel pumpers, roof racks, side MOLLE panels, and carbon fiber fender flares are on the menu to get the Cybertruck looking like an extreme off-roader.
Various light bar options, a rear tire carrier, and a carbon fiber hood cover will also be there to show the versatility of the electric pickup truck and how capable it is when it leaves the tarmac behind.
The fully equipped INVINCIBLE Cybertruck will be on display at the Mothers Polish booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Furthermore, Unplugged Performance’s fleet division, UP.FIT, will showcase the fully outfitted Tesla Cybertruck police pursuit vehicle. The model is equipped with specialized lighting and electronics and rides on pursuit-rated wheels and tires.
