Celebrities and public figures shy away from controversy, and understandably so. But there's always a way in which they can still enjoy the perks of a controversial lifestyle without actually being tainted by the controversy.
This is one such way. Whereas most former associates have, well, disassociated from embattled music mogul Diddy, they might still get to enjoy the Diddy lifestyle without the downsides, by chartering his private jet.

Indeed, the blacked-out, fully custom jet that Diddy gifted himself a couple of years ago and which was, until his imprisonment earlier this year, his pride and joy – and most Instagrammable asset – is now up for charter on the so-called "Uber of private jets" platforms frequented by A-listers and other high-earners.

All listings don't mention who the owner is, as one media outlet notes, which could mean renters have no idea they're using an asset connected to the most explosive scandals of recent years. Then again, ownership is probably an open secret in those circles and, if not, can be easily verified by means of the registration number.

The jet in question is a 2015 Gulfstream G550 that Diddy (real name Sean Combs) used to refer to as Combs Air. He would often shoot content for his socials while onboard or in the process of boarding it, or would allow celebrity guests to post videos and photos of the interiors, thus offering his once-huge following a glimpse inside his ultra-luxurious lifestyle.

Back in the day, Combs Air was the ultimate status symbol for a mogul as powerful, wealthy, and adored as Diddy. But times have changed, and those changes brought a slew of charges ranging from gun offenses to trafficking and assault.

Diddy is now in custody in NY, awaiting trial, and he's looking at an extended legal fight that will require additional resources. He's already listed his Miami mansion for sale (to no enthusiasm yet from potential buyers), and the fact that he's offering his once-beloved jet for charter could be yet another step in the direction of raising cash for his defense.

A one-way trip from Los Angeles to New York costs over $116,000, not including taxes, fees, extras, or carbon offsetting. It's not much for a millionaire, but it's still a pretty penny. The decision to charter the jet could be a step towards selling it, the same media outlet believes.

The Diddy connection aside, G550 is an outstanding asset. Powered by twin Rolls-Royce BR 710-C4-11 engines, it has an ultra-long range of 6,776 nautical miles (7,7798 mikes/12,549 km) on a fuel tank and can be further customized according to each owner. Diddy's is estimated to have cost some $60 million with all the custom work, which apparently includes a pair of all-beige lounges, in sharp contrast with the black exterior.
