Originally introduced in 1974 but reborn for the modern age in 2022, Dodge's Direct Connection performance parts line is expanding rapidly at the SEMA Show with loads of HEMI delicacies.
Stellantis is on a roll for the 2024 edition of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada – which is scheduled by the Specialty Equipment Market Association for November 5-8. First and foremost, Mopar – the global name for Stellantis genuine parts and authentic accessories – is hitting the premises with a potentially polarizing idea: a 1967 Plymouth (Belvedere) GTX dubbed as an Electromod Concept, which is used to showcase the prototype Mopar e-Crate propulsion package.
There are also loads of custom vehicles from Jeep, Ram, Dodge, and Mopar enthusiast/TV personality Mark Worman, plus "hundreds" of OEM performance parts and accessories. Traditionalists have something cool to see – the Ram 2500 Power Wagon Concept featuring a rugged HEMI-powered demeanor combined with a vast list of optional Mopar and custom accessories. Secondly, there's also the Moparized Ram 1500 RHO with a high-impact exterior graphic theme.
But there's something potentially cooler from Dodge, too. While the production of the beloved L-bodied Charger sedan and Challenger coupe ended late last year, and reports claim there are only tens of vehicles available on dealer lots, you'll still be able to support their transformation if you manage to grab one with Dodge's expansion of the Direct Connection performance parts line featuring the launch of the new Hellephant A30 426 and Drag Pak 354 HEMI engine blocks that can be ordered as licensed products.
Both the Hellephant A30 426 and Drag Pak 354 Supercharged Crate HEMI engine blocks will be offered in numerous machined configurations to aid bespoke engine builds through Callies Performance Products, with the former starting at an MSRP of $8,815 and the Drag Pak 354 kicking off at $10,570 – and ordering begins during the first quarter of next year. All the new (and old) products are available both online and physically through certified Dodge Power Brokers dealerships.
Additionally, Direct Connection will roll three new supercharger kits for the division's 6.2-liter HEMI crate engine – the 3.0L IHI twin-screw supercharger derived from the Demon 170 as the "perfect" upgrade to the Hellcrate Redeye 6.2L Supercharged HEMI crate engine ($11,995), the 2.4L supercharger replacement snout kit ($1,095), and the 2.7L supercharger replacement snout kit ($1,295).
"Dodge is celebrating 50 years of Direct Connection by growing our performance parts offerings for enthusiasts seeking more horsepower on the strip or on the street," said Matt McAlear, Dodge brand CEO – Stellantis. "With the launch of Hellephant A30 and Drag Pak 354 Supercharged Crate HEMI engine blocks, Direct Connection continues to expand the brand's portfolio of crate engine products."
