The increased interest people seem to manifest for bicycles in various forms kind of made it a matter of time until motorcycle makers, even the most prestigious ones, joined the party. That includes Ducati, which presently offers several choices for bicycle enthusiasts, in both electric and conventional guises.
On the electric bike front, the Italians are already offering a number of very exciting choices, targeted at various segments and needs. The lineup starts with the Futa AXS, which is a road electric bike, then burns through the Enduro Powerstage RR (made in carbon) and TK-01RR (made in aluminum), and the unfortunately-named MIG S mountain bike.
As of this June, a new model joins the range. It's aimed at making short work of gravel surfaces with equal prowess as it does roads. It's called Futa All Road, and it's based on the AXS, from which it borrows quite a few components.
The bike is built around a carbon fiber monocoque and is propped on Vision AGX 30 wheels with carbon fiber rims. Both of them wear Vittoria Terreno Dry rubber with different widths, 38 mm at the front and 35 mm at the rear.
The bike can move under the rider's own power, but it can also make use of its electric drivetrain. The setup comprises an electric motor that delivers 250W of power and 42 Nm of torque and can assist the rider based on five different settings.
The motor draws power from a 250Wh battery and it can optionally be had with a range extender to double that.
The bike's powertrain is invisible to the naked eye, as the motor is encased in the hub, and the battery is hidden in the down tube. To make the Futa look even smoother, the cables are also hidden from sight.
Visually speaking the All Road offers all the proper Ducati looks, with carbon shine visible pretty much everywhere, including on the handlebar. The ten-degree forward bend gives the ride an aggressive look and the rider a proper position, while the Selle Italia SLR Boost (probably) makes a ride as smooth as possible. The bike wears a GP red livery all over.
Ducati says it will make the Futa All Road in four sizes, with the smallest being S and the largest being XL. The M version, for instance, weighs just 27 pounds (12.4 kg).
Deliveries of the e-bike on the European continent are scheduled to start this month. Ducati will offer the rides complete with a bike-packing set that includes a Skuad saddle, a handlebar, and frame bags.
The Futa All Road is also compatible with the FSA app, which, on both iOS and Android, offers rider details about the rides’ stats and data on battery life and charge status.
Ducati makes no mention of how much the e-bike costs, so you'll have to get in touch with a dealer for that.
