In 1999, Harley-Davidson started a program called CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) that included a small selection of models from every production year made as limited-edition custom machines with larger engine displacements, unique paint designs, and additional accessories no
where to be found on production models.
Skipping over two decades further, in 2023, Harley-Davidson brought the CVO Road Glide and CVO Street Glide into the world. The machines were identical, and the only differences were found on the front end of both models, with different front cowls and headlights.
In the appearance department, the 2023 Harley-Davidson packed a stylish tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, side-mounted panniers with lots of storage painted in such a way to match the bike's color, a single-piece dual seat with a low riding position, a two-into-one exhaust system, and a stylish new version of the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine.
The 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide packed a 1,977cc Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine that has been around for seven years, delivering an impressive output power of 115 hp with a maximum force at 4,500 rpm and 188 Nm (139 lb-ft) torque at 3,000 rpm.
The engine was fitted with an Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) system, offering excellent performance and acceleration. The power was handled by a six-speed Cruise Drive transmission, delivering the energy to the rear wheel through a final chain drive.
On the front, the bike was fitted with a large TFT touchscreen display with a Skyline operating system, which replaced the conventional analog instrumentation with new digital ones. In addition, some of the switches on the handlebar were integrated into the new infotainment system.
The 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide was set to hit the market in July 2023, with prices starting at $42,999 and with a choice between two color schemes.
