The Harley-Davidson CVO, a short way of saying Custom Vehicle Operations, was a series of motorcycles manufactured for the factory custom market. Since the program started in 1999, the maker has chosen a small selection of its production machines for every model year and crafted limited-edition customizations with larger engines, unique paint designs, and accessories that were nowhere to be found on production models.
In 2023, Harley-Davidson launched two new models as part of the CVO lineup, including the CVO Street Glide and Road Glide, which delivered a new design but also a new version of the renowned Milwaukee-Eight engine, which has been around since its introduction in 2016.
In the appearance department, the 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide was fitted with a stylish front fender, trimmed to display more of the front wheel, a front cowl that stretched over the handlebar for more protection, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with a low riding position, and large side-mounted panniers that matched the bike's color.
Underneath its stylish fuel tank, the bike was fitted with a 1,997 Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine that boasted 115 hp at 4,500 rpm and 188 Nm (139 lb-ft) torque with a peak at 3,000 rpm. The power was handled by a six-speed Cruise Drive transmission and sent to the rear wheel through a final chain drive.
In front of the rider's eyes was a large TFT touch screen, operated by a Skyline OS and coated with anti-reflective and anti-fingerprint materials. The big screen replaced the conventional analog instrumentation with digital ones and some of the switches that were usually on the handlebar.
The manufacturer will offer the 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide in two color schemes, including Dark Platinum and Bright Smoked Satin and one optional Whiskey Neat with Raven Metallic. This will become available in July for prices starting at $42,999.
