There are a few manufacturers that North America has loved for decades, but in the past two years, the name Brinkley RV has been causing quite a stir. Well, this time around, we explore a unit that even the manufacturer's website hasn't revealed yet.
Folks, whenever a new RV or fifth wheel hits the market, we're typically among the first to get the news out there; we're a little late on this one. Nonetheless, we've been able to wiggle our way around and found a YouTube channel that gives us an inside look into Brinkley RV's newest fifth-wheel floorplan, the Model Z 3515.
Now, there are two ways you can approach this article on the 3515: either read it and then enjoy the video below, or vice versa. Honestly, it won't matter how you go about things; if you're in the market for something like this, you may very well find yourself heading to a local dealership after we're done here.
First and foremost, Brinkley claims that this is the unit for those of us who spend nearly all our time on the road, and because of this, they have done something special with this floorplan: they've installed a rear office/flex/mud room. You can see the space firsthand in the clip below at around minute 12:00.
According to the host, Brinkley has crafted flex rooms before, but none quite like this. Above all other uses, this space is dedicated to those of us who need to attend an online meeting, must work on a project with a looming deadline, or just want to get away from everyone else. But, as I mentioned, this room can also be transformed into a bedroom, storage area, or mudroom; your imagination is the limit here. You can even transform it into your laundry room; it's equipped with a washer/dryer prep.
As we break away from this space, we find ourselves in the midst of a massive living space with multiple slideouts along the East and West walls and a large island kitchen layout. The latter is supported by a large modular dining table along the right wall. Be sure to take in the theater seating, extendable tri-fold couch, and an entertainment center with a hidden TV and fireplace. I really like the amount of headroom Brinkley has in place for this unit.
Toward the front of the 3515, a couple of steps signify that you're now stepping into the gooseneck section of your trailer. As we do, we'll find a large bathroom along the left side and, last but not least, a bedroom with a walk-around mattress and under-bed storage. Be sure to check out the massive forward-mounted wardrobe, too. Another washer/dryer prep is in place here, too, so you can have the flex room free of laundry duties.
Now, we could talk about the interior features until the cows come home, but that would leave a very significant portion of the 3515 out of the picture. For example, Brinkley aimed to create a fifth wheel that can break away from the trailer park, giving us the occasion to truly experience off-grid living.
For that, generator prep has been added, but most importantly, the ability to manage solar energy with up to 370 W of solar panels, a 60 A controller, inverter, and battery bank. If 370 W isn't enough, be sure to ask your dealership if more can be added or handle things yourself. Just be sure to know what you're doing, or you may damage the frame, shell, or both. Tanks with a capacity of 75 gals ensure clean water.
Oh, and it's not just the trailer park that you'll be breaking away from, but most of the camper and RV community too. I'm talking about extending your mobile living season to year-round activity with R40 insulation in the floor, ceiling, and R11 walls. Be sure to check on a heated underbelly.
No, we're still not done here. Judging by the first moments of Matt's RV Reviews video, we can tell that outdoor living and activities have also been taken into consideration in the 3515 and Model Z lineup. A large pass-through storage can house most, if not all, of your campsite goodies, such as inflatable kayaks, fishing poles, skis, and snowboards. Outdoor shower prep ensures you never drag dirt inside, and let's not forget about that flex room, which you can do with as you please.
The question is, just how much are we being asked to drop on one of these babies? Well, that's going to depend on a plethora of features and is not limited to just your local dealership's pockets. But, according to Brinkley, the 3515 is rolling in with an MSRP of $120,916; I'm sure you can sweet-talk your dealer into possibly getting that price lowered a bit. Or why not pit them against each other to see who can give you the best price?
