Ever since the introduction of the Civic Si’s first generation in 1986, the car has topped the sales charts in the sport compact segment, and the 2025 model year confirmed its desirability.

Honda introduced the eleventh generation of the Civic in the summer of 2021, but only in sedan shape. It was an unusual but expected move from the Japanese automaker. Coupes and station wagons were no longer sought-after vehicles in the compact segment. While the car was praised for offering comfortable rides and great fuel efficiency, it wasn’t that much appreciated by the brand’s enthusiasts. The Type R that followed was exhilarating in many ways, but its price was too steep for most Gen-Z buyers. As a result, the automaker made the Si version, created with young customers in mind.

When the Japanese automaker made the project for the 2025 Honda Civic Si, it used the same underpinnings already existing for the rest of the range. However, it added some visual differences so buyers could brag about having one of these cars. At the front, the sporty four-door vehicle featured LED headlights with eyebrow-like daytime running lights. They flanked a hexagonal-shaped grille that sported a honeycomb mesh adorned by the red Si badge. On the lower side, the sporty sedan featured a second broad air intake that helped to cool the powerplant, and it was flanked by slim side scoops that created an air curtain around the vehicle to lower drag resistance.

At first glance, there were no significant changes to the vehicle compared to the rest of its stablemates or its 2022 Civic Si. However, a unique set of V-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels and a new color named Urban Gray Pearl were available for the 2025 Honda Civic Si. There was also another significant upgrade, which was unseen, was the new lower B-pillar made from stronger steel. This change was made to increase the side protection (SICE), which led to the most rigid Si ever. Like its non-facelifted version, the sporty compact sedan came with an exclusive aerodynamic package that included new side sills and a lip spoiler on the short rear deck. Furthermore, unlike the rest of the Civic range, the car came with smoked taillights and a dual exhaust system placed underneath the bumper.

Inside, the automaker introduced a new instrument panel featuring a 10.2-inch color display. In addition, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system placed atop the center stack was also new. It featured built-in Google and front USB-C ports. Furthermore, it had wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. At the front, the sports bucket seats with Si logos embroidered on the tall seatbacks and red/black upholstery promised to keep their occupants in place during high-speed cornering. The rear bench seat was identical for the entire 2025 Honda Civic range.

However, customers looking for a sporty compact sedan were more concerned about these cars’ underpinnings. Honda offered the 2025 Honda Civic Si exclusively as a six-speed manual affair, with no option for an automatic or a CVT. To make the vehicle feel sportier, the automaker installed a new, stiffer suspension and even offered it with factory-installed sticky summer tires as an option.
