HONDA GB 250 Clubman (1983-1992) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 1983, the Japanese maker released the Honda GB 250 Clubman, a cafe racer motorcycle that started its life due to some traditionalist from Honda, who thought that the CBX250 model could be tweaked by giving it an old-school charm.

The 250cc engine that powered the GB 250 Clubman started as a 349cc unit in the 1980s XR350R enduro model. It was sleeved down to a 250cc displacement and fitted with a double overhead camshaft instead of a single unit, making its way to the core of the CBX250 motorcycle.

The CBX250 stock motorcycle was transformed into a factory cafe racer and rushed into production with an all-new name, the GB250 Clubman. The GB referred to Great Britain for its design influences, and "250" denoted its displacement.

In the visual department, the cafe racer had features such as a round headlight upfront, two analog instrument dials, a chromed exhaust system, side-mounted rear shocks, a two-piece dual seat, and wire-spoke wheels.

For suspension, the bike packed a telescopic fork on the front and dual side-mounted shocks on the rear, while the braking performance was achieved by a single disc mounted on the 18-inch front wheel and a drum unit on the 18-inch rear wheel.

Regarding power, the 1983 Honda GB 250 Clubman had its heartbeat set by a 249cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered 30 hp with a peak at 9,500 rpm.
