2024 Hyundai i30 Estate Photos, engines & full specs

Hyundai introduced a second refresh for its compact-segment contender, the i30, a car that was available in three shapes: hatchback, fastback, and the most spacious of them all, the i30 Estate.

When Peter Schreyer penned the i30 back in the 2000s, he might not even knew that its new concept would be that successful. It re-created the design language of the Korean automaker. Then, Hyundai rushed through the i30’s generations. The first model came in 2006, followed by its 2011 and 2016 successors. Customers expected to see a new aversion to this nameplate. That didn’t happen in 2020 when the car manufacturer released a refreshed version of the vehicle, and it didn’t happen in 2024 when Hyundai released the second update for this moniker. Meanwhile, the car’s sales were dropping and were far from the success stories from 2016 to 2019, when the i30 sold in six-figure numbers worldwide. Not to mention that the i30 Estate was not the hottest-selling version among its siblings.

Hyundai was busy developing new products and shifted its focus to its electrification program. As a result, the 2024 i30 wagon didn’t look that much different from its predecessor. However, it did have some significant upgrades, such as the standard LED headlights, which were previously available only as an option. Furthermore, the black higher-mounted grille replaced the gray one that was previously used. Versions fitted with the N-Line package featured black piano trims and a specific logo on the main grille.

The 2024 i30 Wagon was available in a choice of 12 colors, and seven of them were new. This color palette also applied to the rest of its brothers. All versions came fitted with standard 16-inch alloy wheels, while the N-line versions were available with 17- or 18-inch sets. There were no other significant upgrades on the 2024 i30 Wagon’s profile. However, the automaker placed refreshed LED taillights at the back with V-shaped lights that echoed the DRLs from the front. Also, at the back, the N-Line versions featured round twin exhausts on the sides and a distinct diffuser at the lower side of the bumper, adorned by a chromed horizontal trim.

Inside, the automaker offered a similarly-looking cabin, albeit with new and upgraded materials and colors. Besides the base grades, which were fitted with fabric upholstery, the upper ones were available with either part-leather, full-leather, or a mix of textile suede and leather materials. Customers could also choose between a mixed instrument cluster that featured two large dials for the speedometer and a tachometer that flanked a 4.2-inch LCD that showed additional data from the car’s onboard computer or a seven-inch fully digital instrument panel. In addition, Hyundai provided the i30 Wagon with a 10.25-inch touchscreen placed atop the center stack in a free-floating position that featured OTA updates for maps.

Hyundai offered the 2024 i30 Wagon with gasoline engines similar to the 2020 model year. In addition, the 2024 model year was available with 48-volt mild-hybrid systems. All versions sent their power to the front wheels via a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Hyundai also improved the car’s active safety systems.
