In late 2024, Audi unveiled the Q6 Sportback e-tron lineup at the Paris Motor Show, which came as a sportier-looking version of the regular Q6 e-tron SUV.

While the transition towards electric car mobility didn’t go as well as manufacturers hoped, Audi still had to flood the market with vehicles based on its newly developed platform developed for premium vehicles, known as the PPE. The four-ring brand hoped that along with improved performance, better ranges, and sportier-looking vehicles, it could attract more customers to its battery-powered range of SUVs and save the company from losing money in the electromobility battle. The 2025 Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron kept the newly-introduced naming system of the German premium car manufacturer from Ingolstadt. According to it, the even numbers in the nameplates were for EVs, while the odd ones were for those that featured an ICE under their hoods.

At the front, the sporty brother of the regular Q6 e-tron boasted similar Matrix LED headlights as its SUV sibling. Their slim organic shape could lit in several selectable patterns. Between them, the already-known broad singleframe grille was masked since the car didn’t need a large cooling area. However, the vertical side vents that flanked it were real and used for creating air curtains that helped the 2025 Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron achieve a respectable drag coefficient of just 0.26 (0.28 for the regular SUV).

From its profile, the car revealed its tall nose followed by a raked windshield, typical for an SUV coupe. Furthermore, the flared wheel arches emphasized the sporty character of the 2025 Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron. The automaker also created a rounded roofline with a sloped-down tailgate at the back. As a result, the rear doors featured lowered windows, curved on their upper side. To reduce the rear three-quarter visibility, Audi installed triangular glass areas between the C- and the D-pillars. At the back, the OLED taillights could also illuminate in a few patterns, and they were extended from side to side across the wide tailgate. On the lower side, the automaker installed an aerodynamically-profiled bumper featuring a diffuser underneath.

Inside, customers found a high-tech cabin with a dashboard that boasted a full array of screens. In front of the driver, the 2025 Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron featured a curved panoramic display, with a seamless transition between the 11.9-inch screen for the instrument panel and the 14.5-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Furthermore, as an option, customers could get the vehicle fitted with a third touch-sensitive display, sized 10.9-inch, fronting the side passenger. Since the car was the sporty version of the Q6 e-tron SUV, the automaker installed high-bolstered front seats covered in Argument fabric or Dinamica microfiber, depending on the options. At the back, Audi placed a 40/20/40 bench seat for the rear passengers. There was enough legroom for all three, thanks to the almost completely flat floor. However, the sloped-down roof led to lower headroom for them compared to the SUV version of the Q6 e-tron.

At the sales start, the 2025 Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron was available in two drivetrain options. The lower version was motivated by a 306 PS (302 hp) motor that sent its torque to the rear wheels. At the same time, the quattro version added a second powerhouse for the front axle, leading to a system total output of 387 PS (382 hp). The 800-volt architecture was fed by either an 83 kWh or 100 kWh battery pack that could charge up to 225 kW and 260 kW from fast-charging DC stations, respectively.
