JAWA 660 Sportard (2011-2012) Specs, Performance & Photos

Jawa was a Czech motorcycle and moped manufacturer founded in 1929 in Prague, Czechoslovakia by Frantisek Janecek, who bought the motorcycle division from Wanderer. The Jawa name came from the first letters of Janecek and Wanderer.

In earlier times, especially in the 1950s, Jawa was one of the top manufacturers. They exported the 350 models to over 120 countries. Their best-known models were the 350 Perak and the 350 Californian in the 1970s.

In 2011, the Czech motorcycle maker introduced the JAWA 660, a motorcycle designed as a combination of a sports bike and a supermotard. It was delivered in three versions: Sportard, Adenium, and Vintage.

The bike's visual department was characterized by features such as a front fairing with three headlights, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger grab handle, a two-into-one exhaust system, a side stand, and wire-spoke wheels.

The motorcycle was manufactured around a steel frame. The frame housed the suspension system, which comprised a telescopic fork on the front and a single shock on the rear.

Braking-wise, the motorcycle packed two 320 mm brake discs on the 17-inch front wheel and a single 220 mm rotor on the 17-inch rear wheel, providing optimum braking performance.

The 2011 Jawa 660 Sportard had installed a 660c four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine at its core, delivering 49 hp at 6,500 rpm and 57 Nm (42 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.
