JAWA 350 Classic Solo (2014-2015) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2014, the Czech motorcycle maker released the Jawa 350 Classic Solo, a relaxing and comfortable machine that was better than never. The bike was designed to produce torque and was slim and light enough to filter through busy city streets.

Jawa was a Czech motorcycle and moped manufacturer founded in 1929 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, by Frantisek Janecek, who bought the motorcycle division from Wanderer. The Jawa name came from the first letters of Janecek and Wanderer.

In earlier times, especially in the 1950s, Jawa was one of the top manufacturers. They exported the 350 models to over 120 countries. Their best-known models were the 350 Perak and the 350 Californian in the 1970s.

Features like wire-spoke wheels, a dual chromed exhaust system, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger grab rail, a side stand, and a round headlight complemented the visual department.

It was made around a double-closed tubular steel frame that housed the suspension system. It comprised a hydraulic telescopic fork on the front with 150 mm of travel and twin shocks on the rear with 80 mm of travel.

The braking power was achieved by a 265 mm disc on the front wheel clamped by a one-piston hydraulic caliper and a 160 mm drum on the rear, offering optimum braking performance.

Regarding power, the 2014 Jawa 350 Classic Solo was fitted with a 343cc two-stroke twin-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 23 hp at 5,250 rpm and 33 Nm (24 lb-ft) torque at 4,750 rpm.
