In the world of travel trailers, a few names have been leading the pack for decades. Well, one of those crews is Jayco, and this time around, their Australian counterpart is celebrating 50 Years of activity in the land down under by rebirthing a timeless and retro-inspired classic: the 2025 Jayco Discovery.
While searching the world for out-there travel trailers, I stumbled across a unit that even the manufacturer, Jayco Australia, hasn't yet revealed on their website. That said, a massive shout-out goes to Caravan Camping Sales of Australia (CCS), a website where folks like you and me can purchase new and used campers and RVs and where you can keep tabs on the latest developments in the industry for their side of the hemisphere.

Now, the MY25 Jayco Discovery, as it's being called, has been unveiled at a few shows, and one reason as to why they haven't revealed it just yet on their website may be due to the fact that it's still in a sort of R&D stage, where Jayco is gathering feedback from possible future clients and seeing what the people want. Only then will they say that's it's truely ready.

Nonetheless, plenty has been revealed to give us a clear idea of what the lineup has to offer, and this begins by taking note of the fact that just a few weeks ago, Jayco revealed just two units at the Melbourne Leisurefest Show. They were hardtop campers set up with two axles and slideouts, too, bringing back the Discovery name that's been out of use for some time.

Judging by images from CCS, these babies are designed with spacious and well-defined interiors that match the retro vibe the paint job offers. To one end, we can spot a bedroom, and heading toward the opposite side of the units, we pass modular dinettes, galleys, and, finally, a bathroom. An inclination toward outdoor living is also visible; Australians love that. After all, that's the whole idea, isn't it?

Fast-forward just a couple of days, again, and CCS points out that their newest encounter with Jayco Australia has revealed a lineup of 12 pop-top layouts to join the growing Discovery lineup. Some changes, aside from the obvious—the pop-top ability—include a single axle and shorter bodies ranging from 16-22 ft, and they are also aimed at outdoor living.

It looks like Jayco is set to dominate more than just one segment of the industry and is giving future MY25 Discovery owners the ability to find a unit for their lifestyles, no matter what. Oh, and according to sources, this lineup will be replacing the existing Journey class of caravans.

One other thing that needs pointing out is the fact that Jayco higher-ups claim that this is the most feature-laden Discovery lineup that they've ever unleashed onto the market. This means systems like DC-DC chargers, solar panels, lithium batteries, and so much more. Even the interiors go for a fresh European-influenced styling that's been sweeping across countless RV-loving nations, including something about a PET composite floor.

What about pricing? For that, we check in with CCS once again, and according to details, the pop-top versions will be priced starting at around $56,000 Australian ($36,500 American at current exchange rates) to $67,790 Australian ($44,300 American). But those are starting prices, so we'll clearly be able to go well beyond that once an options list is placed in front of you.

Then there are the hardtop babies. Here, the lineup starts at no less than $79K Australian ($51,500 American) and goes up to $93K Australian ($60,700 American). Again, options are sure to take that number a bit further than that. Nonetheless, we can see that the new year is bound to be impacted by the arrival of the new Discovery from Jayco.

Now, before we go, I'd like to invite you on a little journey into a life lived out of a Jayco Discovery. Let's skip over all the RV inspections, paperwork, and the drive necessary to get to where you want to go and picture yourself sitting in the shade of your hard or canvas pop-top, with the kids running around and your significant other by your side. All the while, the smell of burgers sizzling on the grill fills the airwaves, and the setting sun is about to begin its daily dance of colors and shadows; better get the camera ready.

As night falls, some of the gang will be heading inside to lounge around, shower, and get ready for bed, while others plan to burn the candle at both ends while staring at the stars above or listening to the sounds of a guitar accompanied by the crackling of firewood. It sounds like one heck of a time to me, and I bet that some of us will look into moving out to the land down under just to get our hands on a 2025 Jayco Australia Discovery. I would if I had the nest egg.
