Kim Kardashian might not be a proper car collector in the way other celebrities are, but you have to recognize her commitment to an aesthetic. This time, it's that aesthetic that got her trouble with the law.
By our count, the reality star turned billionaire business mogul is now at her third Tesla Cybertruck. She was one of the first celebrities to take delivery of a Founders Edition e-truck, which she promptly started showing off on social media. As one does when one takes delivery of what is the hottest car of recent years, we're not judging.
Just months later, though, Kim seemingly got another Cybertruck, this time wrapped in matte black and with a contrasting white interior.
Then, in September, it emerged that the latest addition to Kim's fleet was a satin silver Cybertruck customized by Platinum Motorsports, a specialist shop that has such a long-standing relationship with Kim that they developed a special kind of gray for her they call Ghost Gray. This Cybertruck, unlike the majority of e-trucks out there that have a colored body, is painted, not wrapped.
It also rides on 26-inch Forgiato ECL-Series Cactus Jack wheels by Travis Scott that match the overall color and probably boasts an equally custom interior. For a celebrity who relies this much on exposure for relevance, Kim has been keeping this unit surprisingly under wraps.
But she can't keep it from attracting the wrong kind of attention. The other day, for example, it caught the eye of an LA County Sheriff's motor patrol because of the tinted glass on all windows. Tinted windows are illegal in California, where you're only allowed a thin strip on the windshield and tint on the lateral windows that lets 70% of the light in.
If you're pulled over for tinted windows, you're looking at a fix-it ticket or even a fine – and that's exactly what happened to Kim, too, according to a celebrity e-zine citing police sources. The report points out that this isn't the first time Kim is pulled over for tinted windows or that she's come afoul of the law, having been ticketed before for speeding, missing license plates, and parking errors.
For the tinted windshield on her Cybertruck, Kim Kardashian was issued a fix-it ticket, which means that she must report back to the Sheriff's Office to show that the issue has been solved, or she'll have to pay a fine.
It's not much of an issue in the bigger scheme of things, especially if you consider the fact that Kim owns an entire fleet of vehicles she can use as her daily driver (customized, too!). But you do have to admit that being forced to change something that was personalized for her – and with her aesthetic in mind – will probably sting a bit.
