KTM 690 Supermoto (2007-2008) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Austrian motorcycle maker introduced the 2007 KTM 690 Supermoto, which features a powerful LC4 engine, a sporty six-speed transmission, and a rally-tested exhaust system.

KTM is an Austrian motorcycle maker known for its off-road motorcycles. In the late 1990s, the company expanded its range into street motorcycles and sports cars like the KTM X-Bow.

The new machine was visually characterized by features like wire-spoke wheels with on-road tires, a single headlight integrated into a small cowl with an extended front fender, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, and an up-swept exhaust system.

It was made around a tubular space frame made of chrome-molybdenum steel. The suspension system was suspended to the frame and comprised a 48 mm WP fork on the front with 210 mm of travel and a WP monoshock on the rear with 210 mm wheel travel.

The bike rolled out from the factory doors on 17-inch wire-spoke wheels assisted by a 320 mm brake disc on the front and a 240 mm rotor on the rear. Both units were clamped by hydraulic calipers, offering optimum stopping power.

The 2007 KTM 690 Supermoto had installed a 653cc four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine underneath the fuel tank, boasting 63 hp at 7,500 rpm and 65 Nm (48 lb-ft) torque at 6,550 rpm.
