Lifan is a Chinese automobile and motorcycle manufacturer headquartered in Chongqing, China. The Company was founded in 1992 and started manufacturing automobiles in 2005. The range includes passenger cars, microvans, dirt bike engines, entry-level motorcycles, mini-vehicles, and commercial trucks.

The Chinese manufacturer released the 2009 Lifan Huntaway 200, a 197cc rugged, tough, and dependable trial machine that could handle the city streets and the back roads where the pavement ends.

In the visual department, the motorcycle had features such as a fork-mounted cowl with a rectangular headlight, a high-mounted fender, a one-piece dual seat, a luggage rack with integrated pillion grab handles, a high-mounted exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels wrapped by off-road tires.

For suspension, the motorcycle packed a hydraulic telescopic fork on the front end and a single shock absorber on the rear end, offering optimum handling. As for the braking power, the wheels were fitted with a brake disc on the front and a drum braking unit on the rear.

The 2009 Lifan Huntaway 200 had installed a 197cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine at its core, boasting 16 hp with maximum strength at 8,000 rpm and 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

A five-speed manual transmission controlled by a wet multi-plate clutch and a final chain drive grabbed the power from the engine and sent it to the rear wheel, pushing the motorcycle to a top speed of 120 kph (75 mph).
