Aimed at customers asking for more luxury and eco-friendly powertrains, the refreshed 2023 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring broke cover in September 2022, less than four years since the model's unveiling.
Lincoln enjoyed great success with its compact luxury crossover Corsair, which it introduced in the spring of 2019. Furthermore, in 2020, this model topped the sales of Ford's upscale American brand. However, instead of making the automaker slow down the pace, it made it push harder on its R&D department. As a result, in the fall of 2022, it unveiled the refreshed version of the car, and besides the regular model, it also updated its high-end version, the Grand Touring. Unlike its stablemates, this aimed at customers who didn't look for fast drives but for relaxed and calculated ones.
Like its sibling, along with the refreshed version, the 2023 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring was available with a new front fascia. It featured a broader grille than on the previous version, adorned by a black mesh that sported chromed rhombs with a 3D effect. From its profile, the most significant upgrade was for the standard 19-inch Bright-Machined aluminum wheels with a dark tarnish finish. As an option, customers could get a 20-inch black monochromatic or premium-painted set. Two fresh exterior colors were available: Crystal Red and Whisper Blue, which are new to Lincoln. Finally, at the back, the Corsair Grand Touring featured similar LED taillights as the rest of the range, with a red luminescent stripe across the tailgate's width that underlined the chromed Lincoln lettering.
Inside, the dashboard received a broader, angular-shaped visor for the instrument panel, replacing the rounded one offered in the non-facelifted version. It covered a new 12.3-inch configurable display that provided more information about the vehicle. In addition, a 13.2-inch touchscreen mounted in a free-floating position atop the center stack replaced the older eight-inch one. In addition, the automaker moved the start/stop button below the screen, next to those that controlled the gearbox. However, the most significant upgrade was the introduction of the Lincoln ActiveGlide 1.2 hands-free feature, which operated at speeds of up to 80 mph (129 kph). It allowed drivers to keep their hands off the wheel while keeping their eyes on the road on 130,000 miles (209,214 km) on selected highways. The panoramic VistaRoof was standard, and so was the 14-speaker Revel sound system.
Under the hood, the 2023 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring was powered by a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that ran in Atkinson cycle. An electric motor helped it to provide a total of 266 hp (270 PS). Lincoln paired the powerhouse with a CVT that sent power in all corners as standard. Thanks to this unit, the compact luxury crossover managed to provide excellent fuel efficiency. Its electric range was up to 27 miles (43 km) and had an EPA rating of 78 MPGe (3.6 l/100 km).
