MAGNI Sfida 1000 1989-1994

Magni is a well-known Italian motorcycle maker. In 1947, Arturo Magni began his career in the Gilera racing department, working with Piero Remor, the engineer of the famous four-cylinder Gilera racing engine.

Arturo Magni joined the MV Agusta racing department in 1950, where he stayed for over twenty years until 1977. Managing MV Reparto Corsa, the racers John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, Provini, Ubbiali, and Giacomo Agostini won 75 world championships and over 3,000 races, underlining Magni's increasing power.

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer introduced the 1989 Magni Sfida 1000, Sfida meaning challenge in Italian. The motorcycle was powered by a Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1000 engine and designed to resemble the MV Agusta and Gilera racing motorcycles of the 1960s.

The motorcycle was manufactured in around 58 units and was fitted with a hand-beaten aluminum fuel tank, a humped racing seat, and a half fairing.

The motorcycle's suspension was provided by an air-adjustable telescopic fork on the front and two shock absorbers on the rear. The wheels were fitted with two 280 mm discs on the front and a 260 mm brake disc on the rear for braking power.

Under the fuel tank, the 1989 Magni Sfida 1000 had installed a 949cc four-stroke V-twin air-cooled engine that delivered 85 hp at 7,500 rpm and 83 Nm (61 lb-ft) torque at 6,250 rpm.
