MAICO Enduro 250 (2003-2007) Specs, Performance & Photos

The German motorcycle Maico introduced the 2003 Maico Enduro 250, an enduro machine made from 2003 to 2007. In addition to the 250 models, the maker also released a 500cc version. Both were offered in enduro and motocross versions.

Even though the new motorcycles resemble the older ones, every component was new and made from scratch. They tried to build the best motocross machines with maximum power, lightweight, and excellent handling.

Maico is a German motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1926. Although the company had built multiple light bikes before World War II, it introduced its first bike, equipped with a Maico engine, just after the end of the war. This model recorded an impressive success, which led the company to release the M model in 1948 and the 125 a year later.

After experiencing many financial problems in 1983, Maicowerk AG continued to manufacture only a small number of motocross and enduro motorcycles, mostly known in the USA under the M-Stars name.

The motorcycle was characterized by wire-spoke wheels wrapped in off-road tires, a single exhaust system with a silencer mounted high on the left-hand side, a single seat, and a high-mounted front mudguard.

The 2003 Maico Enduro 250 was powered by a 247cc two-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 54 hp at 5,400 rpm. The engine was assisted by a five-speed gearbox with a final chain drive.
