MATCHLESS X Reloaded (2014-2015) Specs, Performance & Photos

Matchless is one of the oldest British motorcycle manufacturers, founded in 1899, the same year the company's first bike was officially built. The company became famous mostly thanks to the 750cc models Silver Hawk and Silver Arrow but also thanks to its long history of racing.

In 1931, Collier & Sons, the company's real owner, decided to buy AJS, another motorcycle firm, both being included in the Associated Motor Cycles (AMC) founded in 1938. AMC was a large company started by the Collier brothers, including Norton.

In 2014, the British motorcycle manufacturer released the Matchless X Reloaded, a beautifully sculpted motorcycle with a design borowed from the legendary Model X made over 80 years ago. The machine was designed by Franco Malenotti and the Matchless design team.

The X Reloaded was characterized by features like a dual-round headlight system, a large fuel tank with various instruments mounted on it, a single bicycle seat, a dual exhaust system with both silencers mounted on the right-hand side, and wire-spoke wheels.

For power, the 2014 Matchless X Reloaded had installed a 1,916cc V2 four-stroke S&S engine fed by a fuel injection system. The engine boasted 100 hp and 150 Nm (111 lb-ft) torque.

The braking system included a single disc on the front clamped by a 12-piston caliper and a rotor on the rear with a six-piston caliper. Both calipers were cooled by forced air.
