Motobecane, a company based in France, stepped into the motorcycle world in 1923 when Charles Benoit and Abel Bardin designed the first motorcycle with a 175cc single-cylinder, two-stroke engine.

The two partners continued the research and development, so the second bike, equipped with a 250cc engine, was launched ten years later. During the same period, the company debuted in racing competitions, participating in the Bol d'Or endurance race.

Besides manufacturing motorcycle series, the company was also involved in racing competitions like the Grand Prix tournament. Motobecane recorded multiple victories in the 125cc class during the late 1970s but also participated in the 125cc competitions, where it only managed to finish second in the 1980 season.

One of many scooters in their range was the MBK MachG, which was manufactured from 2005 to 2009. The scooter was available in two versions: one with an air-cooled engine and one with a liquid-cooled engine.

The 2005 MBK MachG was powered by a 49cc two-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 3 hp with a peak at 6,750 rpm and 4 Nm (3 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

Visually, the scooter was characterized by a large headlight up front, a one-piece dual seat, a single exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right-hand side, a single left-hand side-mounted rear shock, and six-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.
