MBK Skycruiser 125 2006-2009

In 2006, the French motorcycle maker introduced the MBK Skycruiser 125, a fuel-injected liquid-cooled scooter that could dominate both carriageways and city streets. The chassis offered excellent rider and passenger comfort. In addition, the scooter was available in a 50cc version.

Motobecane, a company based in France, stepped into the motorcycle world in 1923 when Charles Benoit and Abel Bardin designed the first motorcycle with a 175cc single-cylinder, two-stroke engine.

The two partners continued the research and development, so the second bike, equipped with a 250cc engine, was launched ten years later. During the same period, the company debuted in racing competitions, participating in the Bol d'Or endurance race.

Besides manufacturing motorcycle series, the company was also involved in racing competitions like the Grand Prix tournament. Motobecane recorded multiple victories in the 125cc class during the late 1970s but also participated in the 125cc competitions, where it only managed to finish second in the 1980 season.

The Skycruiser 125 had standard features like a dual headlight system, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat, passenger grab handles, five-spoke alloy wheels, and a single exhaust system with a silencer on the right-hand side.

The 2006 MBK Skycruiser 125 had installed a 124cc four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine at its core, boasting 14 hp at 8,750 rpm and 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.
