Although the Caprice and Impala may have left the chat for this one, as these Chevy from the 1971 to 1976 model years are the only real donks, albeit with the usual mods, this upgraded 1970 Buick GSX is the bomb – in our (okay, my) eyes, anyway.
First and foremost, the classic muscle car in question retains its timeless look all around, so its creator, which we will write about in a few moments, hasn't ruined it. Quite the opposite, as they have made it even prettier by fitting it with a set of oversized alloys.
The new five-spoke wheels have visible rivets and a chrome look that works perfectly with other shiny elements on the outside. These can be seen on the front and rear bumpers, on the side skirts, wheel arches, door handles, and other components. The vehicle features a yellow overall look, which wouldn't normally be our first choice for such a ride, as we'd probably pick black. However, it does work with the design, and we very much adore it.
This 1970 Buick GSX comes with dual headlights on each side of the grille, a large wing mounted on the trunk lid, wide taillights, a pair of small exhaust tips at the rear, and ultra-beefy brakes with cross-drilled calipers that sport a purple look. It also has an adjustable air suspension that lifts or lowers the body at the push of a button (or a flick of a switch), and we reckon more work has gone into the chassis and probably under the hood.
Naturally, such a build deserves a great motor, preferably a modern V8 with supercharging that whines a lot under right pedal abuse. However, given the rather small exhaust tips we mentioned above, we suspect that it doesn't have such a lump breathing air from behind the tweaked grille. That may be a pity, but it's not the only sad part of this project. In fact, there is an even sadder one.
Can you tell what we're about to say? If you paid attention attention to the title, then the answer is probably yes. You see, that 'digital' reference is all about the nature of this 1970 Buick GSX. Thus, whether you like it or not, this classic muscle car that boasts numerous modifications only lives in Fantasy Land. Yep, it's nothing more than a virtual project, one that was shared online recently by 412donklife on Instagram.
The vehicle is pure fire, as most commentators who have seen the social media post embedded below have said. We agree with that, and we'd be proud to own it, especially as a restomod that would get rid of all the classic car hassle. But do you like this muscle car as much as we do?
