Modenas was founded in 1930 in Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia. It is a Malaysian national motorcycle company that produces various small motorcycles below 200 cc for the local market and export.

Modenas exports its products to 17 countries worldwide, with Greece, Russia, and South America being the largest importers.

Modenas shares the technology transfer and development of motorcycle manufacturing, which makes the country proud to produce Indigenous motorcycles. Although the vision will not be realized within a short period, it is a strongly held conviction that the country will one day become one of the best manufacturers of motorcycles for worldwide distribution.

In 2008, the Malaysian motorcycle maker released the Modenas Jaguh 175, a small cruiser based on the Kawasaki Eliminator 125. The bike addressed riders who wanted a cruiser motorcycle in American style but couldn't afford an American machine.

The visual department was complemented by features like a round headlight up front, a one-piece dual seat, side-mounted rear shocks, a chromed exhaust system with a muffler on the right-hand side, and wire-spoke wheels.

At its core, the 2011 Modenas Jaguh 175 had installed a 174cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine fed by a carburetor. It delivered 16 hp at 8,500 rpm and 14 Nm (10 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

A five-speed transmission handled the engine's power, which was sent to the rear end via a final chain drive.
