The Modenas Elegan 200 was Modenas's first liquid-cooled scooter, offering longer haul capabilities. In addition, the engine's cylinder was coated with Ni-Si ceramic, offering more reliability when traveling longer distances.

In 2008, the Malaysian motorcycle manufacturer released into the scooter world the Modenas Elegan 200. It was a liquid-cooled scooter theat addressed riders who wanted to pass the city barriers and admire the fields.

Modenas was founded in 1930 in Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia. It is a Malaysian national motorcycle company that produces various small motorcycles below 200 cc for the local market and export.

Modenas exports its products to 17 countries worldwide, with Greece, Russia, and South America being the largest importers.

Modenas shares the technology transfer and development of motorcycle manufacturing, which makes the country proud to produce Indigenous motorcycles. Although the vision will not be realized within a short period, it is a strongly held conviction that the country will one day become one of the best manufacturers of motorcycles for worldwide distribution.

The scooter had standard features like a large fuel tank, a one-piece dual seat with a large storage compartment under, five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, a windscreen, and a digital instrument for odometer, fuel gauge, and tachometer.

The 2008 Modenas Elegan 200 was powered by a 171cc four-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered 15 hp at 8,000 rpm and 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.
