MOTOCZYSZ E1pc (2010-2011) Specs, Performance & Photos

MotoCzysz is an American electric motorcycle manufacturer that built the MotoCzysz E1pc, which won the 2010 TT Zero electric motorcycle race held at the Island of Man TT competition and broke the previous speed record.

The maker described their bike as having 10 times the battery capacity of a Toyota Prius car and 2.5 times the torque of a Ducati 1198 motorcycle. All that power in a package that resembled something out of a 24th-century Thunderdome.

The 2010 MotoCzysz E1pc was powered by 10 individual lithium polymer cells that sent the current to a DC internal permanent magnet oil-cooled motor, boasting 100 hp and 339 Nm (250 lb-ft) torque.

The bike had one speed, and the power was sent to the rear end via a final chain drive.

The visual department was characterized by the massive batteries placed where a petrol engine should be, an aerodynamic front cowl, a single seat, and ten-spoke alloy wheels.

The bike was assembled around a carbon fiber frame, which featured a proprietary 6X-Flex custom Ohlins fork on the front and a concentric swingarm linked to a fully adjustable custom Ohlins TTX shock on the rear.

Two 320 mm full-floating discs on the front, clamped by radially mounted Brembo monobloc four-piston calipers, and a 220 mm rotor with a two-pot caliper achieved the braking power.
