Audi's A6 e-tron family has just expanded with the introduction of a new entry-level model. Besides the base grade, the four-ring brand has also added a new quattro (AWD) variant.
Simply called the Audi A6 e-tron, the new entry-level version uses a single electric motor that drives the rear wheels. The car enjoys up to 321 hp (326 ps/240 kW) with the launch control function engaged. Naught to sixty-two mph (100 kph) takes 7.0 seconds, or 6.0 seconds with the launch control feature activated, and the top speed is 130 mph (210 kph).
The Sportback delivers 382 miles (615 km) of range, and the Avant has up to 361 miles (591 km). The 83 kWh (75.8 net) battery pack can be charged at up to 225 kW. According to the German car manufacturer, it sips electrons from flat to full in eight hours at up to 11 kW, and a 10-80% recharge takes a decent 21 minutes by using an HPC fast charger.
As mentioned above, Audi's A6 e-tron family has also gained a new all-wheel-drive variant, the second one available after the sportier S6 e-tron. The A6 Sportback e-tron quattro and A6 Avant e-tron quattro also feature a rear-mounted motor, albeit with a bit more punch. The unit generates 455 hp (462 ps/340 kW) with launch control.
The two models take 4.7 seconds to go from 0 to sixty-two miles per hour. The number drops by two-tenths of a second with the launch control function engaged, and the top speed remains capped at 130 mph (210 kph). The 100 kWh battery pack enables a range of up to 438 miles (705 km) for the Sportback and 415 miles (668 km) for the Avant. The battery has a 270 kW charging capacity, which is plenty to restore power for up to 192 miles (309 km) in 10 minutes.
Pricing for the new A6 Sportback e-tron begins at £62,500 ($81,155) in the United Kingdom, and the A6 Avant e-tron starts at £64,300 ($83,495).
