The latest creation of one of the most revolutionary designers in the superyacht industry, Project Hekate is a flawless blend of comfort and style optimized for the ultimate indoor/outdoor experience at sea. Fortunately, it's not just another elusive concept. Hekate is currently under construction in Turkey and set to be completed next year, just in time for the summer season.
Project Hekate comes from the drawing board of none other than Riza Tansu, creator of the famous Tiger Shark yacht class. In 2022, the Bodrum-based shipyard Aegean Yacht began construction on two yachts that marked the beginning of a collaboration between the Turkish shipyard and Riza Tansu. Project Hekate is a continuation of that fruitful collaboration.
A 122-footer (37-meter) with distinctive features, Project Hekate, looks similar to the most well-known Riza Tansu-designed yachts. It boasts the same military-inspired profile with sharp lines, masculine angles, and a metallic grey color scheme. Hekate almost looks like a converted military ship, and it certainly exudes the same sense of intimidating confidence and overwhelming power. However, what is hidden behind this aggressive exterior is a purely contemporary oasis designed for perfect comfort.
Loyal to the original Riza Tansu concepts based on the idea that "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication," Project Hekate reveals a beach house-style interior with fluid layouts and blurred lines between the inside and the outside. Designed to accommodate up to ten guests, the 122-footer sophisticated social areas with an ultra-clean, fresh aesthetic. The main deck owner's suite includes access to a private deck. An ultra-luminous lounge with oversized windows and ample space replaces the outdated "classic salon" concept.
Every area onboard Hekate seems vast, like the sundeck with al-fresco dining options for ten and an elegant central bar. The exterior spaces provide a seamless interplay of open and cozy areas, allowing guests to enjoy uninterrupted views and a strong connection with the surroundings while staying protected against the elements.
Twin MAN engines power this majestic yacht for comfortable cruising at 13 knots (24 kph). Still looking for the right owner, this military-style beauty has a €14,8 million ($16 million) price tag.
Riza Tansu's genius is coupled with the expertise of one of the best Turkish shipyards. Founded in the 1970s, Aegean Yacht gradually switched from wooden yachts to modern aluminum and steel motor yachts.
Riza Tansu revolutionized contemporary yacht design with the 36.4-meter Nomade (renamed Preference19), which was officially launched in 2011 and based on Tansu's previous experimental yacht on a smaller scale. It was Nomade that launched trendy concepts such as the beach house style, closer proximity to the sea, and spacious outdoor areas – elements that would later become highly popular for superyachts. The award-winning Nomade also paved the way for the future yachts in the unique Tiger Shark series.
