Shaquille O'Neal might be the only person in the world who owns not one, not two, but three Tesla Cybertrucks. He will soon be gifted number 3. The former NBA star is probably the world's most… cybertruck-ed person.
What is he going to do with three? Well, you know Shaq, he travels a lot. First, he bought one in Las Vegas and started driving it around. But he lives in Atlanta most of the time, and he did not want to ship that Cybertruck all the way from Nevada to Georgia, even though he missed it dearly.
So, he called his friend from Effortless Motors and asked for a new one. "Don't call me until it's done!" he told him in late August. He did not want just any Cybertruck out there. He had a ton of requests.
About two weeks later, he got a phone call. His Tesla Cybertruck was ready. It was gloss black, riding on 26-inch Forgiatos and sporting a widebody kit that made it intimidating, to say the least.
It was, in fact, the world's first widebody Tesla Cybertruck. It came with huge carbon fiber fender flares, additional lights in the front bumper, a color-shifting LED strip at the front, and underglow. Despite all the exterior customization, the interior was pretty much Foundation Series stock. Now, here comes number 3.
Once again, California-based Effortless Motors is to blame for the move. They customized one more Cybertruck for Shaquille O'Neal, and this time, they did it with the help of Waido Kits. The model, the first ever to get the Waido widebody kit, wears a glossy maroon wrap and rides on massive 26-inch Forgiato wheels, similar to those on his previous Cybertruck. That's so… shaq-ish, isn't it?
The gift is not actually a gift, it is more of an exchange. A while ago, Shaq offered his Dodge Charger Hellcat to Effortless Motors. So, the firm's CEO, Ahmad Abdelrahman, is apparently still looking for ways to pay him back.
Now, Cybertruck number 3, belonging to the former star of the Los Angeles Lakers, sports a custom license plate that reads "Shaqcat," has huge fender flares, a rear wing, an air diffuser, and, of course, custom lights. It is 1 of only 100 examples that will see the light of day, and EM calls it "an absolute masterpiece."
There is no information about the powertrain of the EVs. But knowing the basketball icon, we can guess he would not settle for anything less than the best. So, we suspect he is driving on more Cyberbeast with the tri-motor setup. The system generates 845 horsepower and makes the truck flash from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in just 2.6 seconds, while it runs the quarter mile in 11 seconds flat at 113.7 mph.
Shaq probably found out about the gift when he saw the video about Effortless Motors' plan to gift him the Cybertruck on Instagram. Now, we're waiting for the delivery day.
