The Chrysler 300C has reached the end of the line, with the Stellantis-owned car marque pulling the plug on it recently. The last example was made on December 8, marking the end of a long era, and the assembly of the entire 300 series will end by December 31, 2023.
To commemorate the occasion, the employees at the Brampton factory in Ontario, Canada, gathered around the last copy made and took a picture with it. The car in question features a Velvet Red paint finish and packs the 6.4-liter HEMI V8, rated at 485 horsepower (492 ps/362 kW) and 475 pound-feet (644 Nm) of torque. It can accelerate to 60 mph (97 kph) in 4.3 seconds, and the 1/4-mile is a 12.4-second affair.

Other highlights of the model, in addition to the punchy mill, include the active damping suspension, a limited-slip differential, and four-piston brake calipers made by Brembo with a red look. It also gets round tailpipes that are part of the active exhaust system, producing a throaty sound, as well as black chrome accents all around, Lanua leather upholstery, front sports seats, and a few other bits and bobs to separate it from the rest of the family.

"Our workforce here at Brampton Assembly has a reputation for building top-quality vehicles, and the Chrysler 300C was no different," said the factory's manager, Alex Pittas. "We are proud of the workmanship and detail that went into all the 2,200 that rolled down our assembly line in 2023," he added, referring to the 2,000 copies destined for the United States and 200 for Canada that were spoken for in just half a day after the reservation books opened.

Based on the Chrysler LD platform, just like the Dodge Challenger and Charger that are also being phased off, as well as the W211 Mercedes E-Class and the W220 S-Class, the outgoing Chrysler 300 is being dropped to make room for an electrified future. The brand's upcoming EV will be a trendy crossover. Nonetheless, they could also introduce a battery-electric sedan as the spiritual successor of the 300, and this was hinted by CEO Chris Feuell.

As a reminder, Stellantis is also getting ready to drop the Dodge Challenger and Charger, and they have already released a teaser of their upcoming muscle car that will bear the Charger moniker. It is expected with different electric powertrains available, and it might be joined by the usual internal combustion lumps, a move that would give it an advantage over the new-gen Ford Mustang that is only available with a 2.3L four-pot and a 5.0L V8 in multiple trim levels. The next-gen Dodge Charger muscle car is expected at the end of next year as a 2025 model.
