Livonia, Michigan-based Roush Performance has a new offer for seventh-generation Ford Mustang owners who love their 5.0-liter Coyote V8 and want to extract even more power from it.
The S650 Ford Mustang is – unfortunately – the only viable option for getting a piece of the American muscle car market these days, at least until Dodge unleashes the Sixpack Charger equipped with the 420 hp and 550-hp 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin-turbo engine. Only then will it spell trouble for the 315-hp turbo inline-four EcoBoost Mustang because the standard output of the Dodge Charger Sixpack is 420 hp, and the H.O. goes up to 550 hp, whereas the 5.0-liter Coyote V8-toting Mustang GT and Dark Horse have to contend with 480 or 486 hp with the optional active exhaust and 500 hp, respectively.

So, perhaps it's time to hedge your bets without spending a fortune to get difficult access to the 815-hp Ford Mustang GTD? In that case, the good folks over at Roush Performance from Livonia, Michigan, have again found a solution for you – the 2024 Roush Mustang Phase 1 Supercharger Kit, which is currently on pre-order with free shipping starting from just $9,995. It comes with no less than 740 horsepower and 600 lb-ft, and the company even did a thorough Dynojet Research pass to see the wheel-horsepower gains compared to the stock Mustang V8 – they went up to 618 whp and 491 wheel lb-ft of torque compared to 397 whp and 330 wheel lb-ft of torque.

Just like with the 810-hp Phase 2 Supercharger Kit, the installation difficulty is listed as advanced, and applications are limited to the 2024 Ford Mustang GT & Dark Horse – most likely, they'll soon update the credentials for the 2025 model year, too, since nothing changed mechanically. Orders also need to be placed through an authorized Roush dealer if you live outside of the continental US – otherwise, the orders can be shipped anywhere around the country with no added transport taxes. The kit also has a three-year, 36k-mile limited powertrain warranty.

The goodies include a dual front inlet front drive TVS R2650 supercharger, the signature Roush Red finish on the head unit, has factory twin 80mm throttle bodies compatibility, and thanks to its inverted layout, the Roush Phase 1 kit houses dual high-efficiency intercoolers, among others – like high-flow dual cone fuel injectors, custom billet fuel rails, high-capacity degas bottle, the high-flow Bosch PCE intercooler pump and custom-fit hoses.

Roush adds their kit "is engineered to provide exceptional performance through innovative design and cutting-edge components, tailored specifically for Mustang enthusiasts," and the company also claims they took a stock S650 seventh-generation Ford Mustang fitted with the kit and slicks, and they ran a 10.58s pass down the at the quarter-mile dragstrip! Cool, right?
