The videographer behind the Wheels channel on YouTube is a massive fan of quarter-mile dragstrip encounters at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Mission Raceway Park, and Bandimere Speedway.
As such, from time to time, he gifts us with a nice little compilation of action at the racetrack. The latest such feature highlights all three tracks – in Nevada, in Canada, and Colorado. But there's also an emphasis on something in particular: old and new-school domestic versus import action.

So, the first battle takes place at Mission Raceway Park in Mission, British Columbia, Canada. The facility, also known as 'Thunder by the River,' sees a modern Porsche 911 meet with a Chevrolet Nova SS that's tastefully modified to stand out in any crowd. Well, despite the Chevy driver's best effort, it seems that it doesn't start well for America.

But all of a sudden, the Porsche 911 tamer lifts off the throttle midway through the race and gives the Nova SS the first strike – 10.35s versus 13.47s. Next up, we moved to Bandimere Speedway, also known in the NHRA as Thunder Mountain, which was a quarter-mile dragstrip located just outside Morrison and Lakewood, Colorado.

Over there, another Chevy Nova SS battled a different kind of import foe – the mighty R35 Nissan GT-R. The black grand tourer didn't face off with any type of Nova SS, though. Instead, this was a crazy drag racer styled after a Police patrol car. It looked and sounded spectacular, for sure, but the driver red-lighted, and the Nissan GT-R didn't pursue it at full throttle.

So, the domestic versus import war is tied after the old-school Chevy Nova SS performances. No worries, there are more American sports cars ready for action. We return to MRP for a C7 Chevy Corvette Z06 battle with the equally defunct Audi R8 (America wins by a strong 9.99s showcase against R8's 10.48s performance), then switch back to Bandimere to see a Hellcat fight off with a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.

Naturally, the latter wins, and then we move to The Strip for another Mopar battle – this time against the nimble Toyota GR Supra. It was an easy skirmish for Team America, and then the C8 Chevy Corvette also made an appearance against a BMW M3 while a Hellcat also fought off with a Nissan GT-R. The last two skirmishes are a tie – 12.04s versus 13.56s for the Stingray and 11.42s versus 12.67s for the R35, so the total score is 4-3 for America! Are you happy with the result or not?

By the way, note that we didn't see a few top performers in action, like the latest Ford Mustang or a C8 Chevy Corvette Z06. Otherwise, the outcome might have been even more favorable for the domestic manufacturers, right?
