Having caused a stir with all kinds of upgrades for the pre-facelifted Audi Q8 family, including the RS Q8, which received specific aftermarket goodies in the S and Signature Edition forms, ABT Sportsline has now launched a few extras for the model's mid-cycle refresh.
Although this story is dedicated to the 2024 Audi SQ8, the VW Group vehicle tuner also has performance increases on its shelves for the regular Q8. The stock SQ8 features a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that produces 500 hp (507 ps/kW) and 568 (770 Nm) of torque.
With the ABT Power S goodies up and running, the eight-banger now churns out 641 hp (650 ps/478 kW) and 627 pound-foot (850 Nm) of torque. Those keeping track of the magical numbers know that ABT's SQ8 is punchier than the RS Q8 Performance. The latter comes with 632 hp (ps/kW), and the thrust is identical.
The RS Q8 Performance needs only 3.6s to zip to 62 mph (100 kph) and tops out at 174 mph (280 kph). The standard SQ8 is half a second slower and has a maximum speed of 155 mph (250 kph). Thus, the tuned 2024 Audi SQ8 is probably as fast (if not a hair quicker) as the RS Q8 Performance. This is our assumption, as ABT Sportsline hasn't mentioned anything about the performance.
Besides giving the facelifted SQ8 more power, ABT Sportsline has also installed a new body kit. It comprises a new front spoiler, fender add-ons, a rear skirt seat, and a rear spoiler. The four tailpipes are also part of the makeover, and to further make the sporty crossover coupe stand out from the stock variant, the tuner has left its mark on the wheels. Thus, interested parties can have it with 22- or 23-inch sets, which improve the vehicle's look.
ABT Sportsline eventually called it a day and proceeded to the next project after signing a few interior add-ons. These include the visible carbon fiber look of the shift knob, seat frames, and dashboard panel. The push-start button features illumination, and the new backlit entry sills displaying the tuner's logo greet users every time they open the door.
Other tuners could learn a thing or two from ABT, which is famously known for improving the performance of its projects and boosting their visual appeal inside and out without stepping over the OTT line. We could think of various aftermarket specialists who should attend the ABT tuning school and apply what they learn to their own builds. But that's a topic for another time (perhaps), as now we have to invite you to check out the modified 2024 Audi SQ8 in the photo gallery above and then the comments section below to speak your mind about it.
