If there's one RV and camper manufacturer that's always been at the head of the pack, it's the one and only Winnebago. This time around, we dive a bit deeper into their upcoming Navion 24R, which will be available in Spring 2025.
Ladies and gents and lovers of on-road living, glamping, and camping, before us, is the one and only Navion from Winnebago, a lineup of Class C RVs that Winnebago feels boast the "cutting-edge technologies," and "perfectly balances freedom, flexibility, and upscale style." With these words in mind, be sure to check out the images in the gallery.

While the lineup is composed of five different floorplans, it's the soon-to-launch 24R floorplan that we'll be focusing on today. Just so we're on the same page here, RVBusiness magazine dubbed this one as the Top RV Debut for 2025 and once we dive deeper, you may end up feeling the same.

For example, the 24R is built upon an industry-leading Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis with a 4-cylinder turbo-diesel with an automatic 9-speed transmission with overdrive, the latter giving us better efficiency on long drives and a quieter experience, too. As standard, a RWD setup is offered, but an AWD option does exist, and it even comes with extra ground clearance to handle more rugged terrain.

Now, the fact that this baby is built on a Mercedes-Benz should lead you to understand two things: that the finest living and systems are in place and price. We'll cover the cost last, so we're left with fine living. First and foremost, allow me to point out a few features that are part of the driving experience.

This includes all the assists you can think of, including lane keeping, hill start, crosswind, attention assist, a blind spot monitoring system, but also things like heated seats, Mercedes connectivity, and a touchscreen infotainment center. Airbags all around, power everything, and much more ensure you can stay in the driver's seat for hours before needing a break.

When you do finally pull over for the night or nights, you'll be able to unfurl and experience the rest of the Navion's magic. Once you pull into that spot reserved for you, or the actual middle of nowhere, stretch your legs and take in the sights and sounds of the natural world around, you'll activate this unit's slideout, maximizing the interior living space, unfurl the side awning, and if you're the adventurous type, access the rear garage and unload your fishing gear, e-bikes, e-bike, or just outdoor dining set.

I mentioned that you can be doing all this in the middle of nowhere and that's because of the presence of a 320 Ah lithium battery setup, 2,000 W inverter, and 240 W of solar panels mounted on the roof. Optionally, you can expand the solar array and even grab an LP generator. Winnebago also mentions that you can ditch the generator and go full electric with a 950 Ah Lithionics setup with 480 W of sunlight-loving panels.

Yet, it's once we step inside this unit that we see the true extent of the lifestyle Winnebago has in store for future owners. Access to the interior is made via the cab or a side door and a staircase, the latter hinting at an elevated living space with countless systems running through the floor. Some of that space is reserved for 35 gallons (132 liters) of fresh water, a 47-gallon black water tank, plumbing system, including all its pumps and filters, electrical, and storage bays found along the exterior of the unit. All that is enclosed and heated, so enjoy exploring winter wonderlands.

Once in the center of the action, you'll find yourself in the center of a living space that is filled with all the comforts needed for four people to live a life on the road. While all RVs of this standard have a wet bath and galley, its features like the elevated and modular rear twin beds with storage underneath, the modular sofa, and cab-over bunks are most important here. Personally, I think you can fit more than just four people in one of these units. Oh, a modular dining table setup allows you to access an array of configurations, some letting you unlock movie nights with the use of projectors. You'll need to bring your own screen along.

Last but not least, be sure to take in the futuristic and very European-inspired styling of the overhead storage bins all over the unit. A sharp but minimalistic design brings a clean feel to each space, and this is most obvious in the rear bedroom, where this cabinetry is most present. If you're not big on the whole gray and egg-shell white styling, check out the Hygge Haus II version for a more natural wood look.

A few other features you should be aware of include JBL sound systems, LED TVs, satellite radio, voice controls in the cab, Wi-Fi, induction cooktops, a Truma tankless water heater, and a porcelain toilet for a home-feel morning. But, laundry will need to be handled elsewhere; I saw nothing about a washing machine in the spec sheet. Don't forget about complete control over lighting, including dimmable systems and app control (Winnebago Connect 10) for a wide range of what the Navion 24R offers; you'll be able to track just about everything that's going on with your mobile home from whatever ridge you just hiked to.

All that brings us to the most important question on our minds: How much does this RV cost? Well, at this time, Winnebago hasn't shown us the rate for this floor plan. However, we can compare it to current Navion floorplans, and if there's one thing I can say is that you'll be pressed hard to find a 2025 Navion under $160K (€153 at current exchange rates). Some more decked-out units have been known to reach as high as $200K (€192) or more.

From here, we have to be patient until Winnebago starts dropping these babies in local dealerships, head down to see one, push the buttons, ask the questions, and if everything is in line, ask for an inspection and sign those papers.
