The Danish car manufacturer Zenvo unveiled two versions of its Aurora model at the 2023 Monterey Car Week. One of them, the Agil (Agile in Danish), was built for race tracks, while the other, Tur (Touring in Danish), aimed at those who enjoyed driving high-performance cars on long journeys.
The Aurora Tur was not Zenvo's first high-performance vehicle. Previously, it developed models such as the TSR, the TS1 GT, and the ST1. Yet, most of them were made with tracks in engineers' minds, not with comfortable long journeys. But with the Aurora, the car manufacturer offered customers a choice to get a vehicle that could serve their purposes better. Moreover, the engineering concealed under that hand-crafted bodywork was based on the latest hybrid technologies. Yet, it was not especially developed to provide outstanding fuel efficiency but breathtaking performance, regardless of whether the car was on a track, a highway, or on a winding road.
Just like its track-oriented sibling, the Agile, the Tur was built around a carbon fiber modular monocoque design named ZM1. Thanks to this architecture, the car manufacturer could create the bodywork around it without constraints and limitations. As a result, there were many underpinnings that were intentionally left exposed as a statement of excellent engineering wrapped in beautiful crafting.
At the front, the triangular headlights were extended towards the car's nose by LED daytime running light strips. To maximize front downforce, Zenvo created a massive splitter divided into two sections, similar to the one from the Aurora Agile, but without the side winglets. Like on it sibling, though, the broad air intakes allowed air to pass through the front wheels and go through the rear side of the fenders via massive vents. From there, following the car's bodywork, it was trapped by the rear air intakes that sucked it and diverted it to the radiators to cool the engine. The wide carbon fiber side sills were integrated into the door's panels and helped the process. From its profile, the Tur featured an elongated roofline that stretched above the engine compartment that was placed behind the cabin. Unlike its Agil sibling, the touring version of the Aurora didn't have a massive wing out back.
Customers were greeted by the Aurora Tur with an elegant, leather-wrapped interior. The sports bucket seats were padded so they could provide enough comfort over long distances. Maybe they were not as good for side support as in the Agil, but they did their job well for cruising. The instrument cluster was a unique piece of engineering marvel. There were three dials on it, and the outer ones could rotate to reveal additional displays for the infotainment system or the onboard computer. The center-mounted tachometer remained fixed in place. As expected for a 2023 vehicle, the Aurora Tur featured wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay devices.
Behind the cockpit, Zenvo installed a quad-turbo hot V12 that produced a massive 1250 PS (1233 HP), but that wasn't all. Helped by an integrated e-motor, it could reach 1,450 PS (1430 HP). Combined with another two motors, the total output reaches 1,850 PS (1825 HP).
