The premium Japanese automaker introduced the 2026 Acura ADX in late 2024, offering customers a fresh compact SUV with luxurious features and up-to-date technologies.
Honda's premium brand, Acura, was reckoned for its trustworthy and high-quality products. Even though the automaker didn't excel in offering a wide engine range, it convinced its customers that they didn't actually need more than one or maybe two options. That idea was seen on the compact-sized RDX, the brand's flagship model MDX, and other sedans from the same brand. With the 2026 Acura ADX, the premium Japanese automaker tried to cover a niche segment of customers who craved a crossover with a fuel-efficient engine that was similarly priced as many other compact sedans. Furthermore, the ADX shared its underpinnings with the Acura Integra, albeit the SUV was slightly longer than that.
At the front, the automaker installed an aggressive Diamond Pentagon grille that sported a spider web-like pattern where the brand's badge took center stage. It was flanked by LED headlights featuring chicane-style daytime running lights. Depending on the grade, the automaker installed an extended lip spoiler on the bumper's lower side, making the car look even more aggressive. The only version that came without fog lights was the base trim level.
With its 185.8 inches (4.72-meter) overall length, the compact-sized 2026 Acura ADX was just slightly shorter than the RDX but with an almost four-inch shorter wheelbase. The crossover showed a raked windshield followed by a curved and sloped roofline, which made the ADX look sporty. In addition, the car manufacturer installed standard 18-inch alloy wheels for the base trim level, which was the ADX. The mid-range grade was the ADX A-Spec, which featured a 19-inch set. For the top trim level, the A-Spec Advanced, the automaker added power folding side mirrors on the outside and a surround-view camera system. However, Acura still tried to emphasize the car's SUV stance, adding black plastic molding around the wheel arches.
The Japanese premium car manufacturer tried to create a technologically advanced cabin for the 2026 Acura ADX. As a result, customers were greeted by a dashboard featuring two displays. The 10.2-inch one that fronted the driver was for the instrumentation and navigation, while the nine-inch touchscreen placed atop the center stack was for the infotainment system. All versions featured wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, the A-Spec Advanced trim level had integrated Google and Alexa built-in. Depending on the grade, the bolstered front seats were available with cloth, leather, or a combination of both materials. At the back, the automaker installed a bench seat wide enough for three passengers, but the legroom for the one sitting in the middle was nothing to write home about.
At the time of launch, the 2026 Acura ADX was motivated by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine carried over from the Integra lineup. The automaker paired it with a CVT and paddle shifters behind the steering wheel to create the illusion of a sporty vehicle. All versions were fitted as standard with front-wheel drive systems, while an intelligent all-wheel-drive one was optional.
