Do heavily modified modern-classic off-roaders with V8 firepower keep you up at night? In that case, you may remember this 1995 Jeep Wrangler that we covered over a month ago.
Back then, the SUV was listed for grabs for $49,900, or about as much as a brand-new Sahara. Naturally, we doubted it would sell for the asking price, and as it turns out, we were right. Not only has this modified truck failed to change hands, but the used car dealer behind the ad had to do something about it. So it did the only thing it could: make it cheaper.
Thus, this 1995 Jeep Wrangler is now much more affordable than it was at the beginning of October (2024), which is when we first encountered it. If you paid attention to the opening picture, then you know it is $10,000 cheaper. This means the vendor is now asking for $39,900 to let it go, which is roughly the same as a brand-new 2025 Wrangler Sport S, including destination and dealer fees.
Mind you, that i’s still nowhere near as affordable as the usual Jeep Wrangler YJs that are currently up for grabs. However, this one is not your run-of-the-mill YJ, as it features numerous modifications. Fully rebuilt and in almost-new condition, it boasts an underbody skid plate, a Warn winch, Baja lights, a Gobi roof rack, an integrated roll cage, Dana 44 axles, an on-board air compressor, a CB radio, GPS, reversing camera, and other stuff.
It rides on 17-inch wheels that were shod in chunky off-road rubber for improved traction off the beaten path and power comes from a 5.7L V8. The LS motor was sourced from a 2000 Chevrolet Corvette and features a Magnuson supercharger. The seller still hasn't disclosed how much power this 4x4 unleashes at a hard push of the right pedal, yet it should be enough to help it conquer some steep slopes in the wild without batting an eye. After all, it has other upgrades on deck for improved off-road prowess.
This modified 1995 Jeep Wrangler has barely seen any action since the restoration was completed. When we first wrote about it, the odometer read 2,058 miles (3,312 km), and it still does, so no one had driven it for the past month. Interested parties must access the Garage Kept Motors listing here if they want to find out more about this 4x4 and see it in additional pictures from all angles. The vehicle has a complete build history and commands as much as a fresh-off-the-lot Wrangler.
So, if you were shopping for a Jeep Wrangler or a similarly-sized off-roader, would you blow almost $40,000 for the pictured heavily modified and Corvette-powered 1995 Wrangler YJ?
