Both Hyundai and Kia have been extremely busy across the US automotive market recently. While Hyundai only focused on the much belated (but extremely important) release of the Ioniq 9 three-row EV crossover SUV, Kia has spread its wings even further.
Earlier this month, the South Korean automaker went back to the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, and celebrated its return with two enticing concepts – the PV5 Wkndr minivan and the EV9 Advntr. Obviously, the focus was not only on their rugged abilities but also on their all-electric powertrains. Moving on, the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show is the other major event also taking place in November further closer to the West Coast.
Kia didn't miss the opportunity to make a blast in California and brought a wide array of novelties – the refreshed 2025 EV6 packing better tech, more battery capacity, and refined styling. But it wasn't alone, as there was also the 2026 Kia EV9 GT – their newest electric performance vehicle, a six-seat crossover SUV capable of doing zero to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds thanks to its 501 electric ponies.
Also, there was an ICE-related novelty – the updated 2026 Kia Sportage was unveiled in North American specification with promises of a long list of upgrades to make the popular SUV even more desirable than before. If you look at Kia's current roster for the US, you'll notice that a lot of vehicles are brand-new or just refreshed: the K4 and K5 sedans, the EV6, as well as the Sportage, Sorento, and Carnival MPV.
Alas, but there is one more vehicle that needs to get dressed in new attire – that would be the 2026 Kia Telluride, according to both the rumor mill as well as the parallel universes of vehicular CGI. As such, it is no wonder that members of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators are hard at work unofficially and hypothetically envisioning the design of the next generation.
For example, the good folks over at the "AutoYa" info channel on YouTube have also imagined the CGI looks of the upcoming 2026 Kia Telluride in their latest behind-the-scenes making-of video. It starts with a reminder that the current generation introduced in 2019 for the 2020 model year has been very successful in terms of sales and has already gone through a mid-cycle update for the 2023 model year.
The host of the channel then speculates that the all-new second-generation 2026 Kia Telluride could arrive with three engine options – a base 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four, the current 3.8-liter V6 mill, as well as a fresh plug-in hybrid option to take it even closer to its EV9 all-electric counterpart. As for the channel's resident pixel master, the latter was busy showcasing the potential de-camouflaged design of the new iteration in as many ritzy hues as possible.
